ASHTON COMMUNITY SCIENCE COLLEGE School Policy for Lone Working The following procedure for lone working at Ashton CSC is to be carried out before any member of staff is allowed to work on the school premises. Lone working will normally take place outside of school term time and in out of hours attendance to the school building. 1. Any member of staff working in school holiday periods or attending the school premises out of hours must firstly have a suitable and sufficient risk assessment carried out by the designated responsible person. 2. All risk assessments must be carried out and agreed with the lone worker 3. The responsible person is Mr. S. Hewitt. 4. The risk assessment must then be agreed with the Line Manager or the School Manager. 5. The School Manager is Mrs. S. Evans 6. Contractors must also be made aware of these procedures before they commence their work. 7. Each member of staff will keep their copy of the risk assessment and one copy will be kept by the Health and Safety Officer 8. If Lone Worker lives alone he/she must contact designated persons[site team] at end of every shift to ensure they have left premises safety If the School Manager and responsible person, after checking the risk assessment, agree the risk is too great then the lone worker will not be allowed to carry out their duties on the school premises. This procedure will be reviewed in 2017 or beforehand if required
