Lower Key Stage 2 3D, 4W and 4G

Children in 3D will identify how sounds are made, associating some of them with something vibrating. They will learn how to recognise that vibrations from sounds travel through a medium to the ear. Pupils will find patterns between the pitch of a sound and features of the object that produced it and they will find patterns between the volume of a sound and the strength of the vibrations that produced it. We will be able to recognise that sounds get fainter as the distance from the sound source increases.

Computing will be involved largely throughout the curriculum and our topic on rivers and water. The children will have the opportunity to design, write and debug programs. Pupils will use sequence, selection and repetition through programs. They will use search technologies effectively to research about the Romans around the world and the importance of water. All children will be taught the importance of how to use technology safely, respectfully and responsibly.

3D will also be taking part in the Sacramental Programme, in which they will go through their religious journey of receiving their Holy Communion.

During 3D’s weekly Spanish lessons the children will be listening and responding in Spanish, they will be exploring the language through stories, songs, poems and rhymes. They will be taught how to converse; ask and answer questions. 3D should be able to speak in sentences, express their ideas and describe things orally.
