St Michael’s C.E. Junior School PTA November 2014 Welcome to all the new parents of Year 3 and welcome to all returning parents! We would like to take this opportunity to welcome all the new parents of Year 3 and give a brief explanation about what the PTA is all about. Since our last newsletter in May we have held our most successful event so far with the Summer Fayre in July. We made a whopping £3280.82 profit!! It was a lot of hard work and the weather was very kind to us this year which helped the event become such a success! As a PTA our main ambition is to raise funds for all the children to have little extra treats that the school budget cannot stretch to. We are very much hoping for our next expenditure to be something very exciting and happening soon, contractor dependant so watch this space! Along with raising funds we also want to provide children with different events that are fun like the disco after half term and the Tuck Shop held a few weeks later. We also organised designing Christmas Cards for the second time this year and with a few hiccups along the way but we are really pleased with the response from parents. We ran a competition for best design judged by Mrs Hignet and the winners are Kelly Nguyen 3S, Holly Philpott 4G, Jakub Kazmierczuk 5W & Hemangi Kapoor 6W so congratulations to them! They each received a selection box. We are a bunch of parents who get together once a month for meetings straight from school with a free crèche available for an hour to discuss new idea’s for future fundraising events. Please feel free to come along for all or a few meetings whatever suits you and we would be happy to welcome you to our crew! If meetings don’t fit into your life but you would like to help at events when you can then please join our general helpers email list. You can do this 1 of 2 ways- either email us directly on our email address smjs.pta@hotmail.co.uk or fill in the form at the bottom of this newsletter and pop it into the post box by reception window.
We held a competition for each Class Stall during our Summer Fayre event to win a prize for the most profit raised and the winner was 4S so well done 4S!! We hope you enjoyed your prize of free ice-creams for everyone in the class!!
