Proposed spend of Pupil Premium 2014/15 ASHTON COMMUNITY SCIENCE COLLEGE The Pupil Premium provides funding for pupils:
who have been in receipt of free school meals (FSM) at any point in the past 6 years (£935 per child) who have been continuously looked after for the past six months (£1900 per child) 1
who are adopted from care under the Adoption and Children Act 2002 or who have left care under a Special Guardianship or Residence Order (£1,900) for children whose parents are currently serving in the armed forces, or whose parent/guardian is in receipt of a pension from the MoD (£300 per child) Schools are held accountable for the spending of these monies, performance tables will capture the achievement of disadvantaged students covered by the Pupil Premium. Ashton Community Science College is committed to providing effective resources and ensuring vital support is in place for our disadvantaged students to improve their academic outcomes. This document details the proposed spend of the Pupil Premium 2014/15. A proportion of the Pupil Premium is committed to maintaining the provision for disadvantaged students that is currently in place. Pupil Premium Grant allocation for 2014 – 2015 £247,775 PPG + £13,330 PPP (CLA students) = £261,075
The four key objectives for 2014 - 2015: 1. Literacy (SIP 1d): To improve the literacy of all students to enable them to communicate effectively; 2. Raising Aspirations (SIP 3b) and Student Engagement: To raise the aspirations and motivation of all students to contribute to raised standards and positive destinations for all. To improve curriculum engagement and academic achievement for PP students; 3. Teaching and Learning (SIP 1b): Ensure all staff have a common understanding of independent learning and create opportunities for students to develop and apply these skills; 4. Attendance (SIP 2c) and Parental Engagement: to implement strategies addressing the attendance gap between for PP non PP students. To support parents in ensuring students attend regularly and understand the schools aims and work collaborative to achieve the best outcomes for students.
