GCSE PE AQA 2 year course 5 lessons per fortnight

at end of Year 11 (30%)

Practical 4 assessments from two categories One must be player/performer role Students can choose to be assessed in a

different role (i.e. coach, official, leader etc ).

What skills do I need to study the course: Strong practically Good at exams Good behaviour, kit, attitude record – this is essential

Topics covered – Diet, Aggression, Media, Sponsorship, Leisure, Health, Training, Technology, Fitness, National Curriculum etc.

Controlled Assessment There will be a controlled assessment, where students have to analyse their/or anothers sporting performance. Listing strengths and weaknesses, providing recommendations for improvement in performance Lessons 2 out of the 5 lessons will be practical, where students must bring their full PE kit.

3 lessons will be spent in the classroom learning theoretical topics in which the exam will be based around.

Sports Students need to have a minimum of 2 strong sports in order to perform well in the practical element of the course, where 4 assessments are made.

The practical element makes 70% of the overall grade, therefore it is essential that students attend all practical lessons, extra curricular activities and possibly join a local club.

Attitude Students will be expected to have shown a positive attitude to PE over the last 3 years, in terms of kit and effot.
