Supporting Your Child Help to Keep your Child Safe Online St Michaels C of E Junior School Monday 8th December at 9.00 am (in the hall) Our children live in the Internet Age. They love to use technology and play the latest games. However, it is not always easy for parents and carers to understand what they are doing and how we can help to do the right things to keep them out of danger. Recent news stories have highlighted why this is an important issue for parents, schools and young people alike. The talk will discuss : How young people use the Internet. Show how they use programs such as Club Penguin, Moshi Monsters, Facebook, and Instagram Describe how information young people post can be misused by people who are not their friends. Explain what you, as parents, can do to help keep them safe. How the internet can be used for Cyberbullying. Above all it will give you as parents and carers the confidence to help your child get the most benefit and enjoyment from the internet while keeping safe. Topics will be discussed in language we as parents understand. No technical or computer knowledge is required or expected. The talk will be delivered by Paul Hay, an expert in Internet Safety. He is also a father of two teenage daughters so can appreciate the problems parents face.
