The safety of children, staff and families is paramount at St Anne’s and is therefore at the forefront of school improvement planning at all times of the school year.

Our School Behaviour Policy • we expect all children to maintain a high standard of behaviour and conduct to keep everyone safe • all classrooms display school expectations • all children and classes follow the traffic light behaviour system throughout the day • children who struggle to maintain their behaviour will have an individual behaviour plan drawn up by the SENco to support their needs • school also adheres to the ‘say no to bullying policy’ to ensure all children feel happy, safe and secure in school

Supporting Inappropriate Behaviour Choices • we are aware all children at some point may make a poor behaviour choice • staff are trained to support children through these times in a calm and controlled manner • children are given time to reflect and learn from these choices

Our School Clubs • morning and after school clubs • targeted after school clubs to support children funded by pupil premium • a range of sports offered after school throughout the year • lunchtime clubs to support vulnerable children • wake up shake up to support children in the morning

Our Year 6 Retreat • our year 6 children take part in an end of year whole class retreat to develop life skills ready for high school

Payments And Funding • some of these activities are funded internally by the school and through donations; others are set up at a reasonable cost to parents/carers. Where parents/carers are struggling to pay for cost and are covered under the pupil premium scheme school will endeavour to fund the cost, ensuring all pupils have equal access to school clubs. All payments are made at the school office or via school comms system.

Transition Within Our School • a detailed transition plan is created for SEN children who struggle with changes in their school life • this can include social stories and additional class visits • all transitions is supported with progress meetings to ensure new teachers are fully informed of all children’s needs

Our Transition Policy Supporting Transition To High School For Our SEN Children • additional visits with a key-worker are arranged • detailed transition meeting involving parents/carers, teachers, SENco, children and any other relevant professionals • the SENco ensures all relevant documentation is passed on to the high school • supporting independant transport arrangements

“We Learn Together” Supporting Transition To High School For All Our Children • all children make regular visits to the local high school throughout years 5 & 6 • through planned activities and lessons they become familiar with the new learning environment • when children have chosen their high school, day visits are arranged for all children • heads of year from the high school will meet with the year 6 teacher to discuss children on an individual basis
