Linden Road Primary School Newsletter for Parents/Carers 5th September 2014 Welcome back everyone to a new school year at Linden Road. I’m delighted that all the children have returned well rested, ready to learn and with positive attitudes They have all settled well in their new classes and look amazing all dressed smartly in school uniform. Keep it up everyone! The building work to remodel the Foundation Stage area is all finished and the children are enjoying the new, improved space which has been created. We are delighted to welcome three new teachers to join the brilliant team we already have in school. They are: Miss McNee in Year 1, Miss Pillar in Year 4 and Miss Prince, who is currently working in Year 6. I’m sure you will make them very welcome and will meet them soon, if you haven’t already done so. We also have two new Mid-day Assistants who will be supervising your children during the lunchtime period, Mrs. Austin-Crowe and Miss Khatun. I now have some news regarding the conversion to Academy status and am pleased to be able to inform you that we have been given 1st October for the date of conversion. We are now starting to work towards this and can finally start to make more concrete plans for the bright future of the school. We want to involve you as much as possible in the journey which lies ahead and, firstly, would like to consult on what you would like your school to be known as after conversion. Please choose from the options on the back of the newsletter and return the slip to school as soon as possible. We can then put the wheels in motion, with your help, to design a brand new school logo and choose a new school uniform. PLEASE, do not worry about uniform……..we are continuing as we are for the time being and the change will be gradual. More information will follow. With even more exciting times ahead, I feel proud to be involved with Linden Road’s transition to Academy and also into what will be an outstanding school. I also feel privileged to be making this important journey with your support.
The children are already hard at work and enjoying being in their new classes
