Acceptable School Shoes

Shoes should be plain, traditional, black and polishable with a maximum heel height of 5cm and a maximum sole thickness of 2cm (the heel height is measured from the ground to the welt up the back of the heel).

Boys

Acceptable - Polishable plain black traditional style shoes

Ankle support

If the shoe has an ankle support section, these are acceptable as long as they are always fully covered by a student’s trousers, and are plain, black and polishable.

Not acceptable – trainer/pump type, non-traditional shoe style Kitten heels, stiletto heels, sling-back shoes, canvas shoes and trainers are not permitted.

Winter and inclement weather: Whilst we appreciate that students who walk to and from school may wish to wear waterproof footwear in periods of poor weather eg. snow, we must insist on them changing into footwear that is in line with the Academy uniform policy when they are on the Academy site.

Our site services team, provided and managed by Interserve, assure us that the site will always be safe, clear and gritted before 8am every morning and during the day throughout term time.

If in Doubt:

Please note, that if the shoes that you buy look like a trainer or have a trainer type sole, then they will not be acceptable.

We advise that you take a photo of the shoe before buying it, if you have any doubts, and ask one of the Senior Leadership Members of staff (Mr Grover, Mr Kelay, Mr Morrison) if they will be acceptable before committing to buying them.
