School Update

9th October 2014

Congratulations! Congratulations to Penguins class, (Reception Year) who have had 100% attendance for the first 5 weeks of term. Well done, what an achievement! Comments, Congratulations and Concerns! We have recently sent home our usual ‘Comments, Congratulations and Concerns’ sheet to be filled in. We would be grateful if you could complete it and return it to school as soon as possible. If you have misplaced it, copies are available at the school office. These replies will form part of the agenda for the first Parents’ Forum Meeting of the year on Wednesday 15th October at 7pm (not Wednesday 5th November). The Parents’ Forum is an opportunity for parents to discuss any area of school life that they would like to change and improve. All welcome! PTFA Clothes Line Appeal – Don’t forget the next Ladybridge Clothes Line Appeal is on Thursday 23rd October. We welcome all donations as every pound in weight earns us £1 in funds for school! As always, donations may include clean, dry, wearable clothing and paired shoes, books, CDs, DVDs and console games (please pack these separately from clothing). These should be brought to school on Thursday 23rd October. In exchange for your donations, Thursday 23rd October will be a non-uniform day! PTFA Halloween Disco: The PTFA are hosting the fabulous Halloween Disco on Thursday 23rd October, from 6.00pm until 8.00pm. Prices are £3.00 for adults and £2.50 for accompanied children, and this includes a scrumptious pasty supper! You can enter the pumpkin carving competition and win a fantastic prize, bring your pumpkin ready carved to the Halloween Disco. In addition to this there will be a tuck shop, raffle, and spooktastic prizes for the best fancy dress!! If you would like a ticket, please remember to fill in the slip at the bottom of the letter that your child has brought home, and return it to school by Friday 17th October - it’s going to be a scream!! Harvest Assembly This year our Harvest Assembly will be held on Wednesday 15th October at 9.15am and will be led by Dave Baguley from Winter Watch. Please could every child bring a small donation (please see reverse for details) into school the day before the Harvest Assembly (Tuesday 14th October), to support the fantastic work done by Winter Watch each year. As always, parents/carers are welcome to join us for this event. Your donations are always greatly appreciated.
