What an amazing year it has been for our school: We have successfully trained three Associate Teachers to Newly Qualified Status as part of our association to the Woodland School Teaching Alliance. Once again we have achieved fantastic end of Key Stage 2 SATs results with 95% of our children reaching Level 4, the expected standard in Reading, 53% above the expected level at Level 5. In Maths, 90% of our pupils achieved the expected standard with 47% above the expected at Level 5! This kind of achievement is reflected right throughout the school. The many visitors to our school have commented on how happy our children seem and we have had so many examples of kind, caring behaviour from the children that truly reflect our school Values of: Love, Kindness, Friendship, Fellowship, Respect and Trust. We are so sad to see Mary Gaskell from the school kitchen retire. She has served the pupils of this school for 12 years and will be sorely missed at dinnertimes! We also say goodbye and thank you to Mrs Pickett and Mr Birchall who both move on to pastures new. In September we will be welcoming a host of new teachers as our school grows from six to eight classes across Key Stages One and Two! We welcome Miss Conway (Nursery), Miss Ashcroft (Y2), Miss Malins (Y4) and Miss Johnson (Y5). As well as this we also welcome three new welfare assistants in Ms Brophy, Ms Wilkie and Ms Williams. I hope you and your families have a happy SUNNY summer break and we look forward to seeing you all again in
