English Year 9 GCSE Transition Support Dear Student, The English Department would like to give you some help over the summer so that you can arrive in September ready to succeed in your all important GCSE English course.
As part of the school’s initiative to improve extended writing skills for all students, regardless of ability, we’ve put together a weekly programme of some writing practice so that you really get ready to make the most of Year 10.
Sometimes in the summer holidays we all get a little bit rusty, so using this programme, you should take the opportunity to practise your writing skills. Some writing each week should keep your skill levels up.
Your English teacher will suggest a book to read over the summer.
