Exciting News!! We have been very lucky to be awarded funds to construct a new Infant entrance at the front of the building near to the bike shed. The building work will not only provide an improved, secure, safe and modern entrance to the infants but there will be a new infant library and SEN meeting room constructed within this area to improve the educational facilities for the children. Low level fencing will be erected between the bike shed and the new entrance to encourage children, parents and visitors coming into school to use the pedestrian pathways rather than the road for safety reasons. The building work will be starting over the October half term break and is likely to continue for an estimated 5 week period. Every effort will be made to keep the disruption to minimum, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this building work may cause. We will keep you all updated as the work progresses. Y1-Y6 Cinema Trip Wednesday 23rd October The children all enjoyed their visit to Cineworld cinema in St Helens this week, as part of National Schools Film Week. The film (Monsters University) had strong messages about friendship and teamwork. Thank you to the parent volunteers and staff who accompanied the children on their visit. SCHOOL NURSE Our school nurse, Leanda Ponsonby is based at Birleywood Health Centre. She can offer advice and support for any medical/health issues that may be concerning you about your child. You can call 588460 or email at leanda.ponsonby@lancashirecare.nhs.uk
