SEN Policy Mission Statement Our mission is to create a caring community in which the young people of Blackpool develop the skills, understanding and values they need to thrive in and make sense of their rapidly changing world A Curriculum for All: Special Needs in the National Curriculum(1989) “All pupils share the right to a broad and balanced curriculum including the National Curriculum. The right extends to every registered pupil of compulsory school age attending a maintained or grant maintained school, whether he or she has a statement of special educational needs. The right is implicit in the 1988 Education Act.� Aims of Unity Academy Blackpool To provide an ordered, caring, supportive environment which will produce a sense of community and encourage individuals to make a commitment to the life of the school. To provide a range of educational experiences which will enable all students to develop those skills, attitudes and concepts supported by the knowledge needed to equip them to partake fully in a changing society. To recognise and develop individual ability, interests, skills talents and aptitudes to the full, offering support to those who are in any way disadvantaged.
