An Introduction to Sector based work academies
This course is designed for anyone with basic or no computer skills or anyone who would like a basic IT qualification. Learners work at their own pace with tutor support. The course is accredited by the British Computer Society and will help with finding a job. The course covers:
Computer basics – parts of the computer; start up; keyboard; mouse; shut down
Introduction to the desktop – icons; taskbar, start button, windows, storing, applications, file types
Introduction to documents: creating, naming, fonts, writing, cut/paste, saving, printing
The worldwide web: information, security, connecting, navigating, downloading, searching, social networking
Email: accounts, creating, sending, replying, forwarding, attachments
This course and its certificate are worth over £800 and are being offered FREE for a limited time only. How will you be assessed? There are two online assessments completed on the course, when you are ready. The two exams give you 3 credits at Entry level.
