Headteacher – Mrs A Gray Infant Day out to Martin Mere The infants and staff had a great day out at Martin Mere. They tried pond dipping and bug hunting and during their explorations they saw otters splashing, flamingos wading, ducks whistling and chicks pecking! The staff and children had a wonderful time in the play area, whizzing down the zip wire, zooming down slides and balancing on ropes. The staff were very proud of all the children due to their excellent behaviour and willingness to join in all activities.

Junior Day out to Martin Mere On Wednesday the Juniors went to Martin Mere for the day as part of the schools' curriculum enrichment programme. The behaviour of the pupils was nothing short of Outstanding! They were an absolute credit to themselves, the school and their families! Not just that though, the staff at Martin Mere were also hugely impressed with the level of knowledge and understanding the children showed during the workshops! Well done everyone! We really did make the Bishop Martin name proud!
Dogs on School Grounds
Maintaining Respect
Can we please remind parents that dogs ARE NOT allowed on the school grounds at any time during the day. Please can you either leave them at home or supervised at the main gate. Staff do have the right to ask people to leave the school grounds if they are found with dogs. Thank you for your co-operation in this matter.
There have been a few incidents at the end of the school day this half-term where staff have been spoken to in a disrespectful or abusive manner at the bike shelter or main gate. School staff will always speak to parents in a calm, respectful manner and have a right to expect the same in return. While specific individuals will always be contacted by the Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher regarding their conduct, the school does reserve the right to refuse admission to the school grounds any person verbally abusing staff. Thank you for your on-going support.
Chess Report Bishop Martin played their final two Chess matches this week. We lost to St. James 15-3, and then lost a really close game to Holland Moor 11-5. This brings our points tally for the season to 28 which is 24 more than last year! A huge improvement! Special mention to Luke Blaylock (Y5) who finished top scorer for the school with 10 points! 3 of those came from a brilliant checkmate against Holland Moor. Well done Luke, and well done team! We are getting better every year!
