Lost property As always, by this time of year, we have acquired a large amount of lost property some of which are new items such as coats and sweatshirts. Please ask your child's teacher if you have lost any items and ensure all uniform items, coats etc. are fully labelled. Dance Club and Dance Festival Our school will be taking part in a dance festival at Glenburn Sports College on 11th June 2013. There will be two dance leaders coming in every Tuesday to run two separate after school dance clubs for KS1 and KS2 children, working with those children who would like to take part in the festival. There are only 20 places for each club so these will be given out on a first come first served basis. If you would like your child to attend the club and be a part of the festival please call into the office to complete a consent form by after school Monday 22nd April. Reading with your child
Here are some ideas to help... If possible, let your child choose the book Talk about the book first. Look at some of the pictures (set the scene). "What do you think this will be about?" "Who might this character be?" This is like looking at a picture of a jigsaw before you put it together; it gives clues as to how everything fits. Be enthusiastic and listen. Don't just pretend to listen while doing something else. If the book is proving to be difficult, read it with your child. Remember, your child wants to share the story with you, not the individual words the emphasis is on enjoyment and meaning, not 100% correctness. IN NEXT WEEKS NEWSLETTER... Helping your child when they get 'stuck' on a word.
Uniform Orders for 2013/14 Order forms for new uniform are now available from the office. We have a small selection of uniform in stock. If we have not got the uniform in they will take 2 – 4 weeks once ordered with the supplier. Reminders Please may we remind you of the rules on the school grounds? Please ask all children to walk bikes and scooters whilst on the grounds. Please keep off the grass and let our flowers grow. No dogs allowed on the premises.
