Headteacher – Mrs A Gray OFSTED Report
We have now received our Ofsted report which is available online at www.ofsted.gov.uk or on the schools website www.bishopmartin.lancs.sch.uk . We are very pleased to have been judged Outstanding for behaviour and safety as our children’s welfare is at the heart of everything we do. We were judged good overall with many outstanding elements in every category including quality of teaching. The Inspectors recognised how well our children achieve throughout their time at school but were most impressed that, as one of the inspectors said “This is a school where every child truly matters and is cared for”. Thank you for entrusting your children to us and for your ongoing support. Thank you especially to those parents who spoke with or wrote to the inspectors and said such lovely things about our school. Finally I would just like to reassure you all that we will not rest on our laurels but will continue in our efforts to improve were we can to make sure we provide the very best education for all our children. Bag2School – Fundraising Thank you for all your bag2school donations. We managed to collect 220Kilo and will receive £110 for our school. There will be another collection around Easter time keep a look out for the letter and the blue bag.
The reindeer’s name was Holly. Well done to Miss Smith for guessing correctly.

Huge congratulations to the pupils and staff of the Junior department for their fun-filled, festive extravaganza, “When Sasha Got Swept Up the Chimney!” From the brilliant, catchy songs (“The Tickling Song!”), to the amazing, hilarious jokes (“What is a chinchilla? An icicle in Santa’s beard!”) the show was a huge success! Reindeer, Elves, Santa, magic stardust, and at its heart, the Christmas message: what more could we want from a Christmas show? Well done everyone! Hearing Fund UK
E-safety Don't forget e-safety this Christmas, when buying smart phones, computers, ipods and tablets. Visit www.thinkuknow.co.uk for useful advice.
Are you getting a new mobile phone for Christmas? Would you like to donate the old one for a worthy cause? Mrs Firth is collecting them for The Hearing Fund UK. This is a charity that helps deaf children and their families. They recycle old mobile phones (even if they don't work) and also empty printer cartridges & this raises money for the charity. If you have any old mobiles or printer cartridges please bring them into Mrs Firth whenever you have them. She'll be collecting them all year.
Monday 7th January 2013 8.55am school reopens for all.
