Headteacher – Mrs A Gray Netball Tournament
On Tuesday the 4th December, seven of our Year 6 girls played a netball match at Glenburn Sports College. Team players were Robyn, Lauren, Jenna, Kaitlin, Caitlin, Rebecca and Lotte. We played one game against St Teresa’s and unfortunately we lost 9-3, but we did really well because we were the first ever school to score against them. The last time they played they played a different school they won 18-0. It was amazing playing against them and representing Bishop Martin. Look out for our next report in January By Jenna, Lauren and Robyn
Christmas Gift and Games Fayre A huge thank you to all staff, parents, Governors and pupils who worked so hard to make this year’s Christmas Fayre such a success! The school raised an amazing £1,180 which will go towards subsidising trips and enrichment activities over the coming year. Please note that the “Name the Reindeer” game wasn’t completely filled. The chart will remain in the school office for anyone who wishes to have a go for 20p. Once all the names are taken the winner will be announced.

Road Safety Awareness: 20 is plenty! Did you know? 1. Lowering speed limits to 20mph has been found to decrease child pedestrian accidents. 2. Lowering residential areas to 20mph increases the average car journey time by just 40 seconds. 3. Lowering speed limits to 20 mph reduces road risks and encourages more people to walk, cycle and use buses, freeing them from unnecessary car journeys and cutting traffic.
Bag2School – Fundraising
Let’s have a School Bug Busting Day - TODAY
Our school has signed up to fundraise with Bag2School to raise money for our school and the children. Please put any unwanted clean and dry – adults & children’s clothing, bedding, soft toys, paired shoes, hats, belts and handbags only into bags. School will take collection of bags on Thursday 13th December from 7.30am - 9am only (any bags before or after this time will not be accepted as we don’t have anywhere suitable to store them). Please put them under the canopy next to the main entrance by the visitor’s car park.
The best way to combat head lice is if everyone checks for lice the Bug busting way at the same time, then we can help stop them from circulating! Using a head lice comb after washing your child’s hair, put conditioner on and comb through. If you find any lice in your child’s hair will need to be treated you can get this from your doctor or pharmacy.
