Letter from the Dean June, 2022

Dear members and friends of the CityU Law community, I am pleased to write this annual letter to update you on developments at the School of Law. Teaching Programmes In the coming academic year 2022/2023, we expect to admit the first group of students to our double degree programmes. We also expect to receive applications for the newly established dual JD-MBA programme in collaboration with the Business School. In addition, we have a bumper crop of JD applications and we anticipate enrolling a record number of strong JD students. I’m also happy to say that our LLB and LLM applications remain robust with the LLB registering a small increase and the LLM seeing very strong numbers. Moving forward, we will continue to ensure that our programmes continue to be well-regarded and known to potential applicants. Research Excellence Academic faculty continue to publish books, book chapters, journal articles, and are active participants in conferences and other fora. Below is a short list of representative publications over the last 12 months. I am also very pleased by the level of interdisciplinary research that is beginning to take place. If this can be sustained, the research reputation of the school will benefit immensely. Book Tsimplis, Michael. / Environmental Norms in Maritime law. Edward Elgar Publishing, 2021. 352 p.
