Amphitheater is Friends’ first major capital project By Jim Buchholz Schmeeckle Reserve Director As the prairie grass turns golden and the leaves burst into color, we’re excited to announce the Friends’ first major capital improvement Jim Buchholz project in Schmeeckle—the Friends Amphitheater. The amphitheater will be designed with sandstone seating for 200 people, a timber-frame stage with lighting and sound, and native landscaping to blend with

Why did you choose to become a Friend of Schmeeckle Reserve? My family and I are each individual members of the Friends. The Reserve holds a very special meaning for each of us. I want to share a story that, while not specifically about the Reserve,
