L AU RE N I might not enjoy skiing but I love shopping in Aspen and Vail at this time of year (and of course drinking hot chocolate and eating great food)- it is always so magical. You also can't beat the hot springs in the snow (there are so many in Colorado) !

y Neighbor Felix boasts my personal favorite holiday pop-up bar. Their decorations are unmatched, the cocktails are delicious, and their food always hits the spot! This year they are open November 24th-January 8th, and at least part of all of their 4 locations will be decorated and offer the special menu! My favorite drinks are the Winter Coconut Cosmo and, of course, the Santa’s Cookie n Milk shot.

his year, Miracle & Sippin Santa Denver are opening in four locations around the city: Denver Union Station, Eddy Taproom & Hotel, Sippin’ Santa @ Arvada Taproom, Sippin’ Santa @ Ay Papi. These fun, festive pop-ups are a holiday favorite!

They describe the vibe as “the nostalgic energy of the best holiday party you've ever been to” – what more could you want?

his year, Compass had our holiday party at Avantiki in the Highlands, and I was so excited to check it out! This holiday-themed popup includes holiday and tiki themed cocktails, and a portion of their entrance fee will be donated to Culinary Hospitality Outreach and Wellness (CHOW) which provides mental health support and services to restaurant industry workers. I’m eyeing the Let’s Get Lei’d and Santa’s Big Ass Hot Coco (I’m a sucker for a warm holiday drink!).

O

pen this year from December 24, Camp Christmas is a truly huge & unique holiday pop-up in Denver. Just some of the highlights: holiday cocktails, visits w/ Santa (featuring a range of Santa's representing various racial and ethnic backgrounds), theme nights, drag Queen tours, incredible decorations. I’ve actually never been to Camp Christmas, but I am absolutely buying a ticket today. I wouldn’t miss out on this!

TINSELTOWN - DENVER PAVILIONS

T

inseltown is an extravagantly decorated pop-up in the Denver Pavilions. Featuring decorations like baubles, bows, hanging trees, wreaths, and more – this is a dream spot for the *perfect* holiday IG photo. They have a holiday cocktail menu and plenty of “winter warmer drinks” which I can’t wait to check out!

This thriller set at Christmas time is a quick read that kept me guessing up until the last page… and beyond! With everyone holding their own secrets, you’ll have the chance to put together for yourself what happened, and who you think is telling the truth.

Looking for a feel-good, cozy holiday romance featuring identical twins and a small town bakery? Look no further!

When Charlie Goodwin gets injured and can’t taste/smell, she knows her job as a judge on a baking show is in trouble. So she asks her twin sister to do something they haven’t in years – switch places. Charlie takes over Cass’s quaint mountain town bakery while Charlie takes over her TV studio gig. Following the switch are challenges, love, and two sisters whose lives are changed forever.

This was such a cozy read, I absolutely tore it up! I’m also a sucker for a small town romance, so this was right up my alley.

Sometimes it takes being with the absolutely, totally, and shockingly wrong person to lead you to your forever. That’s what happens to FMC Madi on her trip to Paris.

When her boyfriend asks her to come to Paris with him over the holidays, Madi is expecting a proposal. But when he blows her off, puts her in a tiny Airbnb by herself, and seems 100% wrapped up in work, she starts to second guess his intentions. Luckily, her Airbnb host is friendly, charming, and extremely eager to make sure Madi has the best time in Paris.

I absolutely tore this one up. It was so sweet, and the Parisian backdrop, in my opinion, is absolutely perfect for a holiday novel. The MMC is so sweet and attentive he made me swoon, and I was rooting for them long before there was a “them”.

Imagine seeing someone and knowing instantly, undoubtedly, that they are the one. Now imagine missing your chance to speak to them, searching for him for years, and then FINALLY seeing but they are…dating your best friend. Ouch.

What follows these three is ten years of friendship, heartbreak, missed opportunities, roads not taken, and destinies reconsidered.

As I was reading this book I felt so deeply sad for each of these characters at different points. Between the longing, the lies, and the missed chances – it was a long road to get to a resolution, but that made it all the sweeter.

Are you a fan of the fake dating/marriage of convenience romance trope? Well, step right up!

Recent Portland transplant, Elle, had a whirlwind romance one year ago – she fell in love with a woman in a bookstore in just one day. Then after a betrayal and the loss of her job, she finds herself lonely and desperate for money.

Fast forward, and Andrew, her shop’s landlord, proposes a marriage of convenience – he gets his inheritance and Elle can stop worrying about money. Seems easy, right? Well…his sister is the woman from the bookshop. Now Elle must choose between the safety of a fake relationship and the risk of something real.

I absolutely LOVED this book – I loved all the characters, the messy plot, and the deeply romantic lines from the main characters. I would give this book 6 stars if I could, I loved it so much – actually, I think it’s time for a reread.

When Connor Finch suggests his one-time Tinder date turned friend comes to Thanksgiving at his dad’s Christmas Tree farm, he’s the only one who sees the writing in the stars.

When Shae comes to dinner, she butts heads with Connor’s dad, Nick – a tall, built, golden retriever cowboy who tells her two daughters about her nemesis, Elf on the Shelf. She’s been avoiding it for years – and now, thanks to Nick, her kids want in on the magic. Sensing his mistake, Nick vows to take over elf duties, every day until Christmas, so Shae doesn’t have to bear the expense or energy of the elf.

Nick is the main character of everyone’s dreams, I’d have to imagine. He’s attentive, kind, and so, so good with Shae’s daughters. I loved that the FMC was a single mom, and how Nick took such care in how he joined their lives and family. This book is another 6+ stars for me, I absolutely ate it up. If you like this one, this is the newest book in a series that all stand alone!

Two Nearby Bar -- There is no menu, but the drinks and vibes are amazing.

When you go here it's a small, intimate setting and instead of ordering off a boring old menu you'll give the incredible bartenders some things you like in drinks and they'll come up with a totally unique, incredible cocktail for you. My notes are always vodka/ gin, cucumber, berries, botanical flavors, and *no* grapefruit/ orange and I've gotten SO many fun, creative drinks. Their mocktails are also AMAZING and just as complex and interesting as their cocktails. I highly, highly recommend this bar.

Tavernetta -- Kyle and I received a gift card here as a wedding gift and it was AMAZING. I can't believe we waited so long to go, and I'm already dreaming about going back. If you check it out I highly, highly recommend getting the focaccia, the carpaccio alla cipriani, and the rigatoni.
