During the financial close process, accountants need to validate data quality to ensure the accuracy, completeness and compliance offinancial results.As part of this process, they needto validate account balances on various financialpositions and other dimensions such as cost object, profit center or segment. They need to runpreventive validations prior to closing tasks (for example, validity of assets balances to prevent incorrect depreciation runs), validations after closing tasks (for example,validate zero-balance accounts after settlement runs), milestone validations (for example,balance sheet account variances between current andprevious periods are within a predefinedthreshold), and more.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud provides the new Fiori apps Manage Balance Validation Rules and Groups (F6386)and View Balance Validation Results (F6387) to enable maintenanceand execution of validation rules. Memo Records 2.0 provides a more flexible and efficiently way for cash managers to manage memo records for both forecasted and actual cash flows. Additionally, mass import from spreadsheet is now supported, allowing for the processing of large numbers of memo records across systems. With this feature, you can now post intraday bank statement items. That means, you don’t have to wait for your end-of-day bank statement to enter your system in order to post and clear items, but you can already start processing your payments during the day.

in In-House Banking for Advanced Payment Management (Release 2308)

With the new version of in-house banking, new featuresare included. Features included are among other things withholding taxes and the calculation of fees. The withholding taxes feature allows for the calculation of credit, debit and overdraft interests, since these may be subject to withholding taxes depending on local legal requirements. The calculation of fees allows for the calculation of transaction-or account maintenance-based fees.

Tax authorities have been continuously increasing the number and the complexity of legal mandates and, lately, they have been moving toward continuous transactionscontrols. These translate to business processes extended with an additional step that sends business documents to the tax authorities for registration / approval before business transactions can take place. And, as a result, tax authorities collect all data required to automatically verify returns upon submission or even prepare draft returns on behalf of tax payers.

SAP Document and Reporting Compliance allows you to automatically check the consistency of business transactions between SAP S/4HANA Cloud and tax authorities’ platforms to early identify discrepancies and allow enough time for corrections prior month-end.In addition, you can centrally review the findings and initiate corrections. SAP Document and Reporting Compliance allows you to comply with local regulations, including automated creation and electronic exchange of business documents in the required format. The’Manage Electronic Documents’app allows you to review electronic documents and manage corrections across countries.

Withthe new release, you can proactivelynotifyerrors by sending emails to predefined mailboxes(e.g. support teams or individual users) or setting up automated notificationsto specific users. Intra-company stock transfers and customer consignments are common ways to manage inventory. Companies that carry out EU intra-communitycrossborder deliveries of goods between physical locations can be subject to specific tax and reporting regulations. In these cases, you can use the Create Proposed Tax Postings from Goods Movements job to generate a list of proposed tax postings for your goods movements transactions. You can then use the Manage Proposed Tax Postings app to review and accept these proposals, or amend them if necessary. You can also call up a pricing analysis in the Managed Proposed Tax Postings app to see more information about the pricing conditions that led the system to make the proposal for the tax posting.

Use the SAP Fiori app "Manage Usage Decisions" for inspection lots with serialized materials, even when the indicator for “serial numbers possible” is not set in the product master QM view. It supports more use cases with a variety of serial number profiles, such as "assign serial numbers during usage decision" or "no inspection results for serial numbers recorded“.

• Make stock postings for serial numbers that are not assigned to an inspection lot, but originate from the material documents that create the inspection stock (if not canceled)

Field values can either be kept, cleared or replaced, for example when centrally closing a number of outdated requisitions in a satellite system.
