2021-2022 ANNUAL REPORT

Collaborating with other community stakeholders that help the families of Marlboro County in the areas of parenting, early childhood and well being by maximizing resources to expand services to our parents and children.

1. Increase the Reach of First Steps Services. By FY 23, the percentage of children in need who are directly served by MCFS will increase from 15% to 18%.

2. More children will arrive at Kindergarten Ready for Success.

3. By 2025, the percentage of children who score at the highest level of the KRA will increase by 3% each year until it reaches 40%

FIRST STEPS IS HERE

Last year, because of Marlboro County First Steps: 74% more likely to score at the highest level on the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment 34% less likely to be chronically absent in kindergarten PROVEN RESULTS A 2019 study found that children who received First Steps local partnership services were: $1 = $1.55 Marlboro County First Steps leveraged $110,726 from sources outside of state government, providing a match of $0.55 for every state dollar invested 7 educators participated in First Steps training and professional development, benefitting 500+ children 415 parents & caregivers received services and support to be their child’s first and most important teacher 433 children directly served in Marlboro County

Marlboro County First Steps PAT has been a blessing to me & my kids. I started 4 years ago with my twins and the services have been great. I will continue to be a part of the program with my 2-year-old.

PUBLIC AWARENESS

Marlboro County First Steps public awareness consist of a lot of collaboration. Being in a community this small, agencies who work with families must collaborate with each other because we service the same clients in different capacities.
