FAQs

What are the key changes?

Beginning from March 2023 onward guests with river or ocean cruise bookings will:

• receive an on board credit 50pp instead of luggage and travel accessories*; and

• receive electronic rather than printed travel documentation, with all travel documentation becoming electronic in the next few months

*Effective dates for the changes vary by product/brand as follows:

• Scenic/Emerald Europe River Cruising – 1 March 2023

• Scenic/Emerald Asia River Cruising – 1 June 2023

• Scenic Eclipse – 1 April 2023

• Emerald Cruises Yacht Cruises – 28 March 2023

Why is Scenic/Emerald Cruises introducing these changes?

Over recent years we have made significant changes to reduce our environmental impact, including the elimination of guest single-use plastics on board our ships, the introduction of reusable water bottles and a shift to emailing guest travel documentation.

These changes are a continuation of that commitment to leaving as small a footprint as possible for future travel generations as part of global Scenic Group Cherish the Plant.

What value on board credit will I receive?

What can I use my on board credit for?

The credit will be automatically applied to your on board account and can be used towards the following:

Scenic

• A spa or wellness treatment

• Fine and vintage Champagne, wine or spirits to celebrate a special occasion

• Additional laundry services

Emerald Cruises

• DiscoverMORE excursions

• A spa or wellness treatment

• Your choice of premium beverages throughout your cruise

• Additional laundry services

Are there any other restrictions on how the on board credit can be used?

The credit is not redeemable for cash, non-transferable and non-refundable. Limits and exclusions may apply and will be subject to availability.

What if your clients prefer to receive printed documentation?

As part of our commitment to reducing our environmental impact we will no longer be printing travel documentation for guests, however we understand your clients may still prefer to have some key printed documentation.

If you or your clients do decide to print documentation, based on our enhanced streamline documentation the key sections we suggests to print would be the 3 page summary and 2 page itinerary sections. Also suggest printing their medical and emergency contact form to complete and provide when boarding.

We do not require your clients to provide any documentation at check in on board our ships or for transfers. Your clients can keep their pdf document on their chosen devices for easy access.

What if I have a back-to-back cruise?

You will receive a credit for each cruise, however any unused credits from your first cruise cannot be carried over to the second cruise.

What if I am already entitled to an on board credit or some of these benefits (example a spa voucher for Royal Suite bookings)?

The on board credit is in addition to any existing entitlements or benefits that are related to your loyalty level, suite you have booked or any promotion you received when making your booking.

Does this mean guests will not receive a travel wallet and luggage tags?

Travel wallets and hard luggage tags will no longer be provided to guests prior to departure.

I have a single guest who has paid the single supplement for a full cabin - so would they get two on board credits?

No, as the on board credit is in lieu of luggage and the guest would have only received one set of luggage, they are only entitled to 50 EURO/USD per cruise.

Will the on board credit show on the booking invoice?

An invoice note is currently being loaded for new ocean and river bookings for 2023 and 2024 departures
