oodford Green’s sophisticated Champagne and Wine Bar, The Vault, continues to draw in locals from the area, whether for a midweek light lunch, a post-work glass of wine en route home from a stressful day or an evening out for drinks with friends Situated in the basement of an old bank, The Vault offers a unique setting in which to socialise and enjoy a vast selection of wines and champagne, alongside creative and delicious dishes from rising star chef, Jaran Samat. Jaran launched his new menu last month, keeping his signature dishes on there but with a few tasty additions. Following on from successful events in April, including celebrations for St. George’s Day and The Royal Wedding, May sees The Vault hosting one of their
hugely popular Wine Tasting evenings. Taking place on May 10th, this event will be showcasing white wines from South America. Fine wines will be presented in a fun and informative tasting from 7pm – 8.30pm. Tickets are priced at only £16 per person and if dinner is pre-booked, you will receive 10% off your total food bill on the night. The Vault chambers can also be hired for corporate and private functions with a variety of canapés and sharing platters available. CATCH fish restaurant continues to reel in the customers at its Queens Road site in Buckhurst Hill by offering the freshest and tastiest fish dishes throughout the day. Since Opening at the end of January, proprietors Nicky and Jackie Hunt and their experienced team have created a bright, airy and welcoming restaurant for their customers, offering simply great food at good value in relaxed surroundings. The menu contains an extensive selection of seafood and shellfish dishes, as well as meat and vegetarian options. On a recent visit, recommended
dishes included a generous starter portion of grilled sardines and a fish stew bouillabaisse bursting with flavour. The sharing dessert platter also deserves a mention - just grab a spoon and tuck in! CATCH offers a lunchtime menu, served Tuesday – Friday at only £8.95 including a glass of wine or beer, and a great value kid’s menu for the little ones, so it’s well worth a visit! he Olive Tree in Loughton is a family run restaurant which prides itself on its hospitality, attention to detail and of course its great food and drink! The vast menu draws its influence from the Mediterranean using fresh quality ingredients sourced locally where possible. Dishes include grilled octopus and fennel, chicken souvlaki and a delicious trio of Greek desserts called Elinico Trio. There are daily specials to choose from and a great value set lunch menu available Monday to Saturday 12-5pm offering 2
