VAN WEZEL FOUNDATION GALA The Van Wezel Foundation’s annual gala celebrated 30 years of supporting arts education for our youth. Starting with a fabulous cocktail party with silent auction on the Bayfront, guests then enjoyed a delectable dinner in an elaborately decorated tent as Jim Selinski & well as a spirited live auction conducted by Michael Klauber. Erin Guzzo The evening culminated with an amazing concert by Barry Manilow, who shared with the audience that the Foundation’s support of the arts for children is what brought him to the Van Wezel on this special evening. SARASOTA BALLET AFTER PARTY Celebrating The Sarasota Ballet’s opening night of Sir Frederick Ashton’s The Dream and David Bintley’s ‘Still Life’ at the Penguin Café, the party was packed with the ballet’s biggest supporters as well as the stars and artists of the evening’s performance. Among the stars in attendance were Director of the Birmingham Royal Ballet and internationally renowned choreographer David Bintley, Music Director of American Ballet Theatre Ormsby Wilkins and Principal of Germany’s Stuttgart Ballet Friedemann Vogel. During the evening’s festivities Director Iain Webb presented special gifts: a Chagall art book with original lithograph to David Bintley, a porcelain statue of Sir Anthony Dowell to Friedemann Vogel and a porcelain statue to principal dancer Victoria Hulland of Dame Antoinette Sibley as Titania.
