Let’s Share (Qun) Activities The following activities were organised to leverage the collective wisdom and strength of women to build a win-win global network: • Thai Women Delegation Networking Session On March 14, Vice-Chairperson Yeong Phick Fui led committee members to welcome 28 members from the Thai Chinese Women Association. Both parties agreed to continue to encourage interaction between women from both countries and build an international network. • Singapore International Jewellery Show Tea Party On July 14, 20 CWG members were invited to attend the Singapore International Jewellery Show Tea Party held in the Marina Bay Sands Exhibition Hall. Participants enjoyed a fashion show by Konplott Singapore, a beauty and wellness talk as well as a networking reception. • Strategising work plans and arrangements A dinner gathering was held at CWG advisor Claire Chiang’s residence on July 4 during which CWG activities for the second half of the year were discussed and planned. • Pre-National Day Rally Dialogue Two CWG representatives attended the People’s Association Pre-National Day Rally Dialogue on July 20. The dialogue was chaired by Grace Fu, then Senior Minister of State for the Environment and Water Resources and Communications, Information and the Arts, and Halimah Bte Yacob, Minister of State for Community Development, Youth and Sports. The dialogue revolved around how to improve the current marriage and parenthood policies to better benefit citizens.

• Line Dance Series Line dance classes were conducted at the SCCCI Auditorium every Wednesday night comprising eight lessons over two periods from March 28 to May 16 and from June 20 to August 22. Under dance instructor Irene Gan’s guidance, the members picked up professional dance techniques and furthermore forged new friendships and enhanced their network through their love for dance. • “Bring-A-Friend” Cooking Class “Bring-A-Friend” cooking classes were conducted on April 21 and August 25 at ToTT Cooking Studio with an attendance of 50 participants. The classes were good networking opportunities as members invited their friends for the classes. Let’s Shine (Mei) Activities The following activity was organised to cultivate virtue, poise and elegance to enrich life: • Tea Art Appreciation A tea art appreciation session was conducted on May 28 at Tea Bone Zen Mind. A total of 25 members participated in the event. Carrie Chen, owner of Tea Bone Zen Mind, talked about the differences in Chinese, Taiwanese and Japanese tea cultures, and gave an indepth explanation on the types of tea.

Mandarin Singing Classes

The Chamber’s “Mandarin Sentimental Hits Singing Class” and “Mandarin Folk Songs Singing Class” were conducted on Tuesdays and Saturdays respectively. There were four sessions with 10 classes per session. Each session had an average of 40 students. “Rhythm of Spring” concert On March 3, 39 students from the “Sentimental Hits Singing class” held a “Rhythm of Spring” concert at the SCCCI Auditorium. They performed Chinese classic hits to an audience of 250 people. 2012 Annual Concert On December 29, 32 students from the “Folk Songs Singing Class” presented its 2012 Annual Concert by performing a repertoire of folk songs to an audience of 250 people.
