One of the winery's most popular wines is the Heida Visperterminen, a strong, full-bodied white wine that is popular far beyond the borders of Switzerland.

Another contender for prestigious awards and recognition from wine connoisseurs is Heida Chatouille, the latest creation from St Jodern Kellerei. A sparkling wine that with its citrus aromas and nuances of honey, leaves an elegant, creamy impression on the palate. www.jodernkellerei.ch

A real rarity from the St. Jodern Kellerei is the Heida Veritas, made from self-rooted vines that are over a hundred years old. "The aromas of this very exclusive wine are very intense, reminiscent of apples, nuts, citrus fruits and orange peel. The taste is strong, but at the same time very harmonious and balanced," explains Hock. Heida Barrique, aged in oak and acacia barrels to achieve its elegant, perfect structure, has been highly acclaimed by experts. It

“St. Jodern Kellerei," explains cellarmaster Michael Hock, "is a winegrowers' cooperative with 600 members who practise the craft of winemaking in their spare time. In contrast to modern viticulture, where machines are often used, the grapes here in Visperterminen are still cultivated by hand. There's no other way as our vineyards are very steep.”

"In autumn we still have almost summer-like temperatures during the day, but at night it cools down considerably. This huge difference in temperature gives our wines their distinctive fruity flavour. Our soils give them their typical minerality.”
