The traditional hotel opened its doors to its first guests in 1884, and since then has been an institution for relaxation and exclusivity. Exclusivity begins on arrival as the resort is accessible only by the Gronergratbahn, guaranteeing a high degree of seclusion. There is plenty to do at Riffelalp Resort. So what does Walther recommend for a perfect day in the mountains? “If you don’t want to ski, have a late breakfast with homemade jam and warm buns. Take the Gornergratbahn to Rotenboden. Take the trail to Riffelberg and enjoy the panorama of the 4000 metre peaks around Zermatt. Back at the hotel, have a glass of mulled wine.
