Situated between Augsburg and Ulm, Duttenstein Castle is a place with a colourful past. Built by the Fuggers in the 16th century, it was used by the Princes of Thurn and Taxis as a private retreat and hunting lodge with its own game park for a long time.

Frank Widmann himself offers cooking classes, followed by a trip to our wine cellar. frescoes in the princes’ rooms, which you can use as conference or living room are another highlight,” adds Ms. Pancherz. Exclusivity is always guaranteed, as the entire castle is booked as a whole for events. Guest rooms (nine or 18 depending on the event) are available on request. The proximity to nature inspires a nature-based supporting program. “That’s right,” confirms the manager. “Forest Olympics are one possibility for the active guests, while brunch in the forest is another beautiful option for a more serene morning. We are happy to provide picnic baskets with delicious snacks for excursions to the most magnificent spots in the forest or the nearby lake. As a retreat, the hilly landscape offers a wonderful chance to gather strength and energy for new ideas.
