Transit Mix to Central Mix Conversions RexCon specializes in supplying engineering to convert transit mix concrete batch plants to central mix.

There are several advantages to converting a central mix concrete batch plant from a transit mix plant. The choice boils down to up-front cost vs long term benefits, production rates, and the need for a better quality of concrete and higher production rates.

For the vast majority of producers, the advantages of central mix are numerous: enhanced concrete output quality and consistency via improved slump control, higher hourly production volumes due to faster truck loading times, more project mix designs to bid on (such as CTB, RCC, and Paving Concrete), and significantly less wear and tear on truck mixer wear items.

Fundamentally, these advantages translate into significant economic and reputational benefits that quickly make up for the up-front cost of a mixer.

Concrete Producers can achieve significant quality control improvement by switching to a central mix batch plant. This is because all concrete’s slump is checked before leaving the plant, so consistency is greatly improved. Even if a producer is charging a ready mix truck from a central mix plant, the concrete will enter the truck mixer faster and will be premixed with slump control at the loading points.

When concrete is loaded into a truck mixer from a transit mix plant, material sees different mixing and slump from one truck to another. Overall, this means that a customer will have to make up for slump inconsistency by adding water at the jobsite. As the industry has learned, inconsistency in mix and water can have detrimental impacts on the quality of finished product.

MODEL S BATCH PLANT The Model S Portable Paving Batch Plant offers portability, volume production, and quality mixing.

Modular designed sections are pin connected for fast installation on your jobsite. The Model S produces up to 35 loads per hour with a RexCon tilt mixer, and 55 loads per hour when also using the RexCon Horizontal Shrink Mixer.  The Model S Batch Plant can be easily converted for portable or permanent ready mix applications.  48‖ / 122 cm wide, high speed batch belt with deep troughing rollers moves more material faster.  The aggregate batcher with adjustable baffles produce uniform blending of aggregates as it loads the batch belt.  Water holding tank mounted above mixer provides gravity flow of pre-batched water upon

demand.

135 T / 122 MT aggregate bin can be mounted in either direction so the footprint of a Model S and conveyors can adapt to site conditions.

Horizontal shrink drum can be easily added to all Model S plants for increased production.

All sections are pin connected, pre-wired and pre-plumbed for fast installation.

MOBILE 5 The mobile batch plant that is perfect for remote locations. The telescoping fifth wheel allows the plant to be erected with only a front-end loader and is removable for the addition of future central mix. The gravity feed cement surge hopper is continuously fed by two recirculating screw conveyors.

Gravity feed cement surge storage/use hopper. Cement is batched by gravity from the Surge Section with two (2) Screw Conveyors replenishing the Surge Section.

Single trailer with telescoping fifth wheel hitch allows for easy transportation and erection. Self-contained cement section and folding legs allow for fast installation.

Load cells on all batchers assure precise measurement of materials. Digital readouts and manual controls in any language with electronic pushbutton controls are included. Low profile aggregate bins (T-style) enable ramping up for material loading.
