Grown in small, fully traceable batches under the tropical sun and sea breezes in the West Indies, Sea Island cotton or Gossypium Barbadense, is the most magical, ultra-long staple that exists.
Carefully harvested and handprocessed, our Lucea Sea Island is spun into a technically superior, double-twisted yarn, and finally makes its journey to a family-run textile mill in Italy to be woven and sewn into lustrous sateen bedding.

The Cashmere of Cotton
• Sea Island is classified as ultra-long staple cotton, over 37mm in length and 20% longer than Egyptian Giza.
• Cultivated by hand since the 18th century, a mere 150 bales of Sea Island cotton are produced annually, with each kilo authenticated by the West Indian Sea Island Cotton Association.
• Skilled spinners in Europe use this cotton to create exquisite yarns featuring a double-twisted warp and weft, that compose this long-lasting, heirloom-quality fabric.
• The yarns are woven in one of the oldest mills in Italy, and finished with a double row of hemstitch, adding refinement to the super fine sateen in this extraordinary signature collection.
