The 2022 Mason Street Warehouse season welcomes you back into the theater. Please note: •

The SCA is a smoke-free, drug-free, and weapons-free environment.

Outside food or beverages are prohibited in our facility. We offer a cash bar prior to performances and during intermissions. For everyone’s protection, we ID all guests who appear under the age of 40.

For the safety of our performers, respect to fellow patrons, and to comply with our licensing agreements, we ask you to turn off your phones before the performance begins. The Videotaping or other video or audio recording of any production is strictly prohibited.

The SCA is committed to creating a safe, healthy environment for all of our guests. In addition to providing hand washing stations (bathrooms), hand sanitizer, and disposable masks (ask if you need one!), we have also implemented the following improvements IN our building: •

Air Purification: We have installed an iWave air purification system throughout the building. This advanced technology reduces pathogens, allergens, particles, smoke, and odors in the air providing the most effective air purification method for your health and safety.

Antimicrobial Surfaces: All hard and soft surfaces are the SCA have been treated with MicrobeCare, a unique patented, EPA-registered antimicrobial coating that helps reduce the spread of infection and cross-contamination of dangerous microorganisms.

Welcome to our 20th Anniversary Season!

We’re thrilled to celebrate this milestone - and the return to live theater and performance - with you!

We’ve got two smash hit Broadway musicals on tap: Legally Blonde The Musical and Little Shop of Horrors.

Legally Blonde features our largest cast (24) ever plus a live dog! Little Shop features our largest, um, plant ever! Both shows have brilliant musical scores and choreography plus wonderful characters that will have you laughing, maybe even crying, and most certainly cheering.

We’re also welcoming the inimitable Tony DeSare: pianist, singer/songwriter, and Mason Street Warehouse alumni. Tony was in both of MSW’s productions of Our Sinatra and we’re delighted to have him back on stage in a very special solo performance. MSW alumni Tommy Vendafreddo and Marya Grandy are also back to close out our season with A Couple of Strong Belts, an evening that will be filled with laughter and incredible music.

Besides these star-studded performances, the SCA is buzzing all summer with camps & classes for children, adult activities like yoga and garden tours, exhibitions, Markets on Tuesdays + Fridays, and much more. Plus our 4-community, 7-installation Create Community: Spaces for Discovery public art project

spanning Fennville, Douglas, Holland, and Saugatuck.

Art (in all forms!) can span divides, connecting people of different ages, identities, races, backgrounds, and much more.

20 Years On Purpose

For the last two decades, the SCA has been a place for our little corner of the globe to gather, celebrate, and grow. During that time, we’ve pushed through physical boundaries to become more than a location. Now the SCA is a set of experiences where learners of all ages gain skills and ignite passions, form a better understanding of themselves and the world around them, and build empathy and connection.

During our 20th Anniversary season the SCA is using creativity to bring people together in unanticipated ways. Through projects that invite everyone to create and engage, with an eye on cultivating impactful relationships and lasting memories.

Since 2002 the SCA has evolved and adapted, listening to and looking for our community’s needs, then finding ways to expand and enrich our services to fit those needs. The SCA family — artists, leaders, volunteers, students, performers, and patrons — has invested millions of hours of service and dollars, building an innovative, responsive, forward-looking organization. Now at the 20-year mark, we begin to see the outlines of enduring impact … on partner businesses and organizations, on individual lives, on our West Michigan community.

Kelly Carey is delighted to be returning to the stage for her first main stage musical at MSW in over 10 years! Prior to her hiatus, she appeared in The Marvelous Wonderettes, Das BBQ, The Great American Trailer Park Musical (2005), and Smokey Joe’s Cafe. More recently, she appeared at MSW for the outdoor concerts during Summer 2021. Kelly can be seen at the Dunes Resort Cabaret Room (in Sgtk) every summer - as well on on Celebrity Cruise Lines for John Health Travel! She recently graduated with her masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology and is currently serving as an instructor of applied voice at Western Michigan University. Colleen McLaughlin Kate + Others Colleen McLaughlin is so happy to return to Mason Street for the second time with such a fantastic show. Chloe Matta Chutney Wyndham + Others Chloe Matta is a 2022 graduate of Oakland University where she received her BFA in Musical Theatre. She has recently performed as Voice 1 in 35mm: A Musical Exhibition and as a Player in Pippin both at Oakland University. Chloe is delighted to be spending her summer in such a beautiful city with such a talented cast and crew. Miranda Morace Elle’s Mom + Others Miranda ‘Randa’ Morace is thrilled to be making her professional debut with the Saugatuck Center for the Arts and Mason Street Warehouse in their 2022 production of Legally Blonde The Musical. Randa is a recent graduate of The Institute for American Musical Theatre in New York City. Since graduating she has taught dance in several schools throughout New York City and worked as a background character in several films. Prior to moving to New York she attended The University of Southern Mississippi where she graduated with a degree in Theatre and Dance. While there she participated in additional studies-abroad musical theatre training in Germany, was captain of the university dance team, and participated in many university productions.

Lara Allison Ensemble + Swing Lara Allison is lucky enough to call Saugatuck/Douglas home! She was a running crew intern with SCA on Memphis the Musical, and worked with the Growing Young Artists program--what a joy it is to work in her own backyard! Lara is a theater alum of Interlochen Arts Academy (in northern Michigan) and currently studies musical theatre at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Her favorite roles include Johanna in Sweeney Todd, a Gargoyle in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Gertrude McFuzz in Seussical the Musical. Cha Cha Bruiser Cha Cha was adopted by her guardian Bill Berloni from PetresQ Inc in New Jersey in 2020. She has been prepping to do the role of Bruiser since the Pandemic began. This production marks her professional stage debut with her handler Lara Hayhurst. She dedicates this performance to all the homeless chihuahuas waiting for their forever home.

Scotty Jacobs an unusual artist in residence

The Saugatuck Center for the Arts (SCA) has a deep passion for art in all forms, from fine art hanging in our gallery, to children’s chalk art on the sidewalk, to an archway made out of collected sticks. This year, the SCA is digging into a whole new type of art - and it’s living, breathing, and growing throughout the year.

Artist in Residence Scotty Jacobs is spending the year tending to the gardens both outside and inside the SCA… as well as encouraging guests to grow mentally, and find our collective rootedness in this world. Scotty uses gardening as an art form that opens up doors into hearts and minds.

I’ve learned that happy gardeners grow happy gardens, so I take a spirited approach to digging in the dirt.

“Similar to a piece of artwork, the art of gardening unearths ideas, reflections, and connections that slowly reveal themselves through time spent tending and cultivating growth,” says Scotty.

The exhibition Garden Meditations | Stars in our Soil was on display in the corridor from January - June.

This exhibition took a moment to dig a little deeper and draw parallels between the tools that are specifically designed to help propel and encourage growth and how they can be applied to daily life.

During the winter months, Scotty maintained a lush indoor garden utilizing Lettuce Grow Vertical Farmstands, which were located in the SCA gallery from January through June. These vertical gardens have grown a variety of greens, vegetables, herbs, spices, and edible flowers.

“There was something really special about having something green and thriving in the gallery this winter,” says Whitney Valentine, SCA Director of Education and Exhibitions. “Even on the darkest and gloomiest winter days, we were able to sit in a lush garden to pause and breathe.”

As summer blooms in West Michigan, Scotty’s green thumb can be seen throughout the Saugatuck-Douglas Community. At the SCA, the garden comes to life with vibrant colors, unique plants, and life-sustaining designs for the pollinators that visit the garden.

Stroll through the garden, pause to take it in, and read through a mini-walking tour briefly describing the inspiration behind each section of the garden. To dig in deeper to the garden, join Scotty for a guided conversation to learn about the evolution of the SCA garden and its collaborative vision for growth. Plus, learn about individual plant selections, bed designs, seasonality, ways to contribute, and get tips to bring home.

Scotty also joins artists Jeremy Barnett and Jason Maracani as an integral part of the exhibition installation Create Community: Spaces for Discovery which spans across Saugatuck, Douglas, Fennville, and Holland. Community Gardens fill the wooden boats that start in the SCA garden, float across the street to Coghlin Park, and down to the water.

The Lettuce Grow Farmstands will remain in the gallery at the SCA, maintained by Scotty, until the end of the year. At that point, the SCA will be donating the Farmstands to local organizations to continue investing and promoting sustainably grown fresh, clean food.

Ray DeMatteis* Mushnik Ray DeMattis has enjoyed a busy and varied career in show business for over 50 years, performing and directing at regional and stock theaters throughout the U.S.. He has appeared in off-Broadway productions, and he made his Broadway debut in the original GREASE. His other Broadway credits include CITY OF ANGELS and the revival of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS. He performed for U.S. Presidents 4 times and performed in Central America and Mexico for the United States State Department and at The Edinburgh Theater Festival. His television appearances range from THE COSBY SHOW and THE SOPRANOS to THE GOOD FIGHT, EVIL, and NEW AMSTERDAM, including 9 LAW AND ORDER appearances. He is most proud of his work as FOUNDING ARTISTIC DIRECTOR of the first theater workshop for the disabled-the NTWH.

Ryan Williams* Orin Ryan Williams was playing Don in Kinky Boots at the Fulton Theatre in PA when the musical was canceled due to COVID-19. Before that, he could be seen touring the US as the “hip swiveling” King of Egypt in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new production of Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Other credits include living out his 80’s “Rock God” fantasies as Stacee Jaxx in Rock Of Ages. New York and Broadway Touring credits include: Les Miserables (Enjolras, Jean Prouvaire) Grease (Kenickie, Danny), Evil Dead: The Musical (original Off Broadway Cast).

She annually returns to Indy to perform with the symphony during the holiday season for the Yuletide Celebration. Create Community: Spaces for Discovery

In celebration of our 20th Anniversary, we are stitching together 4 communities with 7 interactive, site-specific public art installations this June through September via Create Community: Spaces for Discovery.

The installations focus on unique spaces and places that are hallmarks of Saugatuck, Douglas, Holland, and Fennville. Designed by artists Jeremy Barnett and Jason Maracani, every location uses “everyday objects,” many that are found in our local environments, to form arches, seating areas, sculptures, boats, windows, and more.

Why mark a milestone anniversary with public installations? SCA Executive Director Kristin Armstrong says that deliberately placing art in public sites makes the installations available to everyone – a form of collective community expression. “Public art is a reflection of how we see the world. It can be part of our public history, part of our evolving culture and our collective memory. It can reflect and reveal us – our values, what’s important to us, what we love.”

In fact, Spaces for Discovery was designed with the concept of “art for all” at its core. “It’s important to us to use materials that are accessible to anyone,” says Jason, a New York-based Installation Artist, Teacher, and Theatrical Production Designer. “We find materials at the hardware store that require nothing more than a drill and a paintbrush… then we string them together.

Anyone can do this.”

Barnett, an Installation Artist, Scenic Designer, and Theater Professor at Oakland University, describes the sculptures as “physicalizing the play of a child.” Jeremy finds inspiration from watching his children play in these spaces. “If my children are skipping across the 50

field, then there’s a good chance that the sculpture is going to be following in their footsteps,” he says.

Every piece of the Spaces for Discovery installation was designed with sustainability and preservation in mind.

While the sculptures are temporary, the sites and the environments that host them are not. Every location is designed with a Leave No Trace philosophy. In addition, the materials that are used for this installation will be repurposed into cold frames, garden beds, and other projects around the communities.

Creating Community: Spaces for Discovery is the first installation of this size and scale the SCA has coordinated. Teresa Van Eyk, owner of Satya Yoga Saugatuck, will be guiding participants through a relaxing class which consists of 60 minutes of yoga and ends with a 15 minute crystal singing bowl sound bath. The singing bowls, made of crystal quartz, are instruments that are tuned to play frequencies that create the types of brainwaves that are present during deep restorative sleep. Founder + Artistic Director Kurt is Mason Street Warehouse founder and Artistic Director of the Saugatuck Center for the Arts, now in its 20th season. Kurt worked on Broadway, on national tours and at numerous regional theaters across the country before making Saugatuck his theatrical home.

Maribeth Van Hecke (Producer) This is Maribeth’s fifth summer at the SCA, second year as Producer for Mason Street Warehouse and Performance & Engagement Manager at the SCA. When she isn't managing theater or performances, she can be found working with StrikeTime Dance Theater at Hope College where she assists with the story, writing and choreography of dance theater for children. She is happiest outdoors, snuggling with the kids she nannies, or exploring new foods.

Kevin MacLeod (Technical Director/Facilities Manager) is excited for his third season with Mason Street Warehouse. Kevin is a Pandemic transplant from Cleveland, OH. Before joining Mason Street and the Saugatuck Center for the Arts, he worked in theatrical design, stage construction, stage lighting and live events.Some of his previous work has been with Cleveland Playhouse, Cleveland Institute of Music and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Jay Gamboa (Co-Choreographer - Legally Blonde, Choreographer - Little Shop of Horrors) is excited to return after choreographing SHOUT! The MOD Musical last season at Mason Street. Darlene Veenstra (Costume Designer - Legally Blonde + Little Shop of Horrors) is happy to be back at MSW with her theatre family for her 19th season and thrilled to celebrate MSW’s 20 year anniversary!! Past season credits: ALL THE MSW SHOWS BEGINNING WITH SEASON TWO! Darlene is VERY recently retired from Hope College, as the Costume Shop Manager, where she also served as Costume Designer for the Dance Program for 21 years , and is a Costume Designer for West Ottawa Public Schools Theater. She dedicates this season of fun to her newest family member, Luca Ray Taylor!

Jeremy Barnett (Set Designer - Legally Blonde) is an installation artist and scenic designer who works in a variety of media and frequently uses common construction materials and bright colors that have been arranged to engage space in joyful bursts of energy. Jeremy’s public art pieces invoke a sense of playfulness and invite viewers to become a part of the sculpture. Jeremy’s degrees from Carnegie Mellon University (BFA) and Boston University (MFA) are in Scenic Design; he has designed sets for over 200 opera, dance and theatre productions.

Jeremy began his work in public art in has created public art in 2015, and has created pieces in venues across Michigan and New England, and has held residencies at the Tengenenge Art Gallery in Guruve, Zimbabwe, the ComPueng Gallery in Doi Saket, Thailand, and at ArtN-Ground in the Cuevas Del Rodeo Art Village in Rojales, Spain. Jeremy teaches Theatre Arts at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.

Cameron Griffiths (Sound Designer/Board Op - Legally Blonde, Sound Designer - Little Shop of Horrors) is excited to be back for his second season at MSW. Since departing Webster Conservatory’s Sound Design program in St. Louis 5 years ago, Cameron has worked from coast to coast and everywhere in between as a theatrical sound and systems designer/engineer. Some of his most notable credits include A Gentleman’s Guide to Love And Murder and Disney’s When You Wish at Tuacahn Center for the Performing Arts in Utah (FOH Sound Engineer). In Addition, Cameron worked as a Sound Designer in Rebel and Misfits’ production of Macbeth: Come Like Shadows, Newsies and Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story at Timber Lake Playhouse, and Just Too Big! at Mason Street Warehouse. Cameron has recently returned from Dallas Texas where he filled in as the Head of Audio and Video at the Tony Award winning Dallas Theater Center and cannot be happier to

escape the Texas summer heat. Cameron is currently studying for his CTS Certification and plans on officially licensing his own audio production company in the near future.

Mac Hamstra (Properties Head/Running Crew - Legally Blonde + Little Shop of Horrors) is a West Michigan-based stage manager and designer.

Their recent credits include Central Michigan University Theatre: University Theatre Dance Company (Stage Manager), Hamlet (Carpenter), The Book of Womanhood, Vol 1 (Stage Manager and Light Designer), The Revolutionists (Set Designer), Closer Than Ever (Stage Manager and Sound Designer), Little Shop of Horrors (Carpenter and Electrician), Goodnight, Tyler (Stage Manager), and Red Herring (Sound Designer).

This summer, in addition to their work with the Mason Street Warehouse, they are a national KCACTF sound deisgn fellow, and will be working on A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder (Light Designer) with Caledonia Community Players.

James Leppa (Wig Master - Legally Blonde + Little Shop of Horrors) is our returning wig designer, having started his partnership with Mason Street Warehouse during our production of Beehive! Having over 17 years of experience as a cosmetologist, James is honored to explore his artistry and creativity each season with the theater. James resides in Coloma Michigan, and shares his love of theater and music and Spirituality with his partner Kirk. Every year, he is impressed and awed by the talent that comes through our doors, and he wishes them all the best in their performances! “Be kind and honest, and harmful poisons will turn sweet inside you.” Rumi Merit Glover (Assistant Stage Manager - Legally Blonde + Little Shop of Horrors) is a freelance stage manager, originally from Berkshire County, Massachusetts. He’s excited to be working with Saugatuck Center for the Arts this summer! Recent credits include Tiger Style!, Marie and Rosetta (TheatreSquared), Primating, Marie and Rosetta (Arkansas Repertory Theatre), Sojourner, The Little Princess (Quintessence Theatre Group), and Charlotte’s Web (Flat Rock Playhouse). Kadie Howe (Master Electrician - Legally Blonde + Little Shop of Horrors) is delighted to be returning to Mason Street for her eighth summer season! During this past “school year”, Kadie worked as a master electrician at Grand Rapids’ Civic Theatre (Once, Shakespeare In Love, Dragons Love Tacos), designed lights for a couple musicals and concerts in Shipshewana, Indiana (Stolen: The Musical, The Christmas Tree Ship, The Glory and Majesty of Christmas), and managed the auditorium at Sparta High School (Elf, The Music Man, Little Women). She would like to give a special thanks to all the people in her life who push her to go further, do better, and dream bigger.

Sydney Geysbeek (Assistant Master Electrician/Board Op - Legally Blonde + Little Shop of Horrors) is delighted to be returning to Mason Street this summer! She has just finished her sophomore year at the University of Michigan, where she is working towards a BFA in Design and Production concentrating in Lighting Design and Master Electrician work, and a minor in Physics. At University Productions, she’s worked on Romeo and Juliet (Electrician), Godspell (Electrician), Somebody’s Children (Electrician), Men on Boats (AME), Hair (ALD), Welcome to Kindergarten (LD). Emily Stein (Wardrobe Supervisor - Legally Blonde + Little Shop of Horrors) is thrilled to be back at MSW for her 3rd season! She recently returned from being on the First National Tour of Tootsie the Musical as the Star Dresser. She last worked at MSW on Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder as the Wardrobe Supervisor. She has also volunteered at Grand Rapids Civic Theatre and Circle Theatre for many years, some favorites include Mary Poppins, Catch Me If You Can and Caroline, or Change. “Thank you to all of my family and friends for their never-ending support. And thank you to Kurt, Darlene, Danny and Maribeth for letting me come back to play!”

David Yandl (Reeds - Legally Blonde) is thrilled to return to Mason Street Warehouse for Legally Blonde, having previously joined the orchestra for A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder (2019). A former Chicagoan, David is a multi-instrumentalist based in Michigan, where he can often be heard at the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre and with the Grand Rapids Symphony.

David holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from Michigan State University and serves on the faculties of Hope College and Alma College. When not playing the clarinet, saxophone, or any of the other woodwinds, he enjoys West Michigan’s beautiful outdoors and vibrant cultural scene. Follow Me: davidyandl.com Brendan Vincent (Keyboard 2 - Legally Blonde) has established himself as a prominent music director and pianist in Grand Rapids where he now resides. He has had the great privilege of directing many productions since 2001, some favourites include Duruflé’s Requiem, Sweeney Todd, The Marriage of Figaro, A Chorus Line, and Songs For A New World. When he is not preparing for a show he enjoys hanging out with his wife and two girls, riding electric unicycles,and frying chicken.

Linda Missad (Keyboard 2 - Legally Blonde) has been a piano/keyboard performer for many years. With a Bachelor of Music from WMU, she has played for Civic Theatre, Circle Theatre, and Spectrum Theatre in Grand Rapids, as well as Cherry County Playhouse in Muskegon. She has played numerous solo gigs and been a member of a number of bands. She has also served as music director, and been a music engraver on over 15 hymnals. Over the past few years, she has been taking online college courses, exploring the world of composition for film and TV. Currently she is a member of The 6 Pak, an all girl band in Grand Rapids.

Ben Ferrell (Guitar - Legally Blonde) is a guitarist and songwriter from Grand Rapids Michigan. Earning his bachelor’s degree in Music Education from GVSU this past may, Ferrell has been performing classical guitar through Grand Rapids Community College and Grand Valley State University for the past 7 years. During his college career Ben has had the chance to participate in master classes with professional guitarists from all over the world including TY Zhang, Xavier Jara and Raphael Feuillatre. Pairing with his experience as a classical guitar player; Ferrell has been writing, arranging, recording and performing music for his own personal projects (Vert Terms and Stormo.) As well as collaborating with several artists in the Grand Rapids area for the past decade.

Kyle Thompson (Guitar - Legally Blonde) resides in Grand Rapids, MI and makes his living as a performer and teacher. He has received degrees in music from Grand Rapids Community College, Grand Valley State University, and the College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, OH. Since finishing college he has kept an active schedule in West Michigan.

He regularly performs solo classical guitar concerts, as a member of the Grand Rapids Guitar Quartet, and works as a freelance musician.

He also currently serves as an adjunct faculty member at Grand Rapids Community College.

Alex Hamel (Drums - Legally Blonde) Alex is very excited to be back at Mason Street Warehouse! He has previously appeared on-stage, and/ or in the pit, in several productions including: Once (Emcee); Million Dollar Quartet (Fluke); In The Heights; Memphis; Trailer Park (2016); Cabaret; Steam Heat; Closer Than Ever; and Avenue Q. A multiinstrumentalist based out of Grand Rapids—and primarily a theatre musician—Alex performs extensively in the Grand Rapids area and beyond—usually playing the role of drummer. Other recent credits: Hair (Music Director - Circle Theatre), Million Dollar Quartet (Carl Perkins Millbrook Playhouse), One Night with Fanny Brice (MD - Jewish Theatre Grand Rapids), and Passing Strange (Asst MD - Actor’s Theatre). He toured the nation several times with Grand Rapids-based performance art troupe Super Happy Funtime, serves on the faculty at GVSU as an accompanist, and operates a recording studio business.

Nate VanderWerf (Trumpet - Legally Blonde) is a trumpeter from Grand Rapids, MI, where he makes his living freelancing and teaching trumpet.

He received a Bachelor’s degree in Music from Western Michigan University and a Master’s degree in Music from the Jacob’s School of Music at Indiana University. Nate finished college in December 2019 and was able to get started as a freelance trumpeter before the Covid shutdown in 2020. Nate has played with an extensive list of artists including Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Randy Becker, and Deborah Brown, among many others. Nate also performs with numerous bands in the West Michigan area including Hark Up, the Holland Concert Jazz Orchestra, and Jubal Brass, along with his favorite type of performance, musicals.

Samuel Aupperlee (Director’s Assistant - Legally Blonde) is a third year college student at the University of Michigan studying directing and playwriting. Elizabeth Crowley (Stage Manager Intern - Legally Blonde + Little Shop of Horrors) is a 20 year old student from the small town of Wheatland, Wyoming. In the spring of 2022, she graduated from Casper College with an Associate of Arts in Technical Theatre and will be attending Southern Oregon University in fall of 2022 pursuing a BFA in Technical Theatre with a focus on Stage Management. Her favorite productions she has worked on include Tarzan, 2020, ASM; Bright Star, 2021, Sound Designer/Sound Board Op; Mamma Mia, 2021, Stage Manager; and Noises Off, 2022, Stage Manager/Sound Designer/Light Board Op. She would like to thank her family and friends for all their love and support over the years and encouragement to pursue theatre.

John Depres (Production Carpenter - Little Shop of Horrors) This is John’s first season with us and despite his general grumpiness, he does indicate he’s excited to participate this summer. 45 years working professionally in the arts has allowed John great opportunities such as unveiling world-class sculpture, a National Endowment for the Arts award for his own sculpture, designing opera for arena performances and is owner of The GR Shop LLC. A favorite nugget of trivia is he won an EMMY for art direction in 2006. His list of corporate clients is extensive

and wide ranging. John’s career has taken him through feature films, television production, and industrial films. For fun John enjoys winter and summer ultra races on bicycle all around the country. Competitions are often over 100 miles and in temperatures ranging from -30° to 100° F. When not engaging in crazy stuff like that, John also owns a company building custom bike bags for bike packing and commuting. He is married to Lea with one son, Nicolas. The dog’s name is Artemis and she’s the sweetest pupper on the planet.

Erika Erlenback (Dresser - Legally Blonde) is from Valparaiso, IN and moved to Michigan for College in 2015, where she studied Fashion design with a minor in theater. She started her career in custom bridal wear and alterations. After Graduating Central Michigan she shifted her path and went on an exciting adventure at sea working for Royal Caribbean as a Costume Technician; where she worked on theater, ice, and aqua Shows.

She has worked on 4 ships for 9 shows over the past few years and has traveled to the Mediterranean and back several times. With this path she discovered her true love for theater and recently finished touring as Assistant Wardrobe on Tootsie the Musical.

Dezarae Begay (Dresser - Legally Blonde) is a theatrical makeup artist and dresser. She has a B.A. in Theatre from GVSU. Recently, she designed makeup for James and the Giant Peach (2019), All Shook Up (2019), and Dragons Love Tacos (2022) at Grand Rapids Civic Theatre. As well as Firebird (2019) at Grand Rapids Ballet, and The Addams Family (2022) at Comstock Park High School. Dez has dressed for various theatres, some favorites include: Mamma Mia (2019), The Little Mermaid (2018), Sister Act (2016), and A Christmas Story (2015) at GRCT; Catch Me if You Can (2015) and Cats (2016) at Circle Theatre. Most recently, Dez had the pleasure to dress for the Hamilton Philip Tour (2022) and Ain’t Too Proud (2022). When not at the theater, Dez enjoys running her face-painting business, reading, and spending time with her family, and friends.

Julian Gonzales (Spot Op - Legally Blonde + Little Shop of Horrors) is heading into his junior year at GVSU where he studies Political Science.

This will be Julian's second summer with the SCA and he is excited to be a spotlight operator again! Julian has participated in theater at Holland High School which included a MIFA state championship for the show Lucky Stiff. Julian has also participated in GVSU's theater program where he 71

operated a spotlight for the university's production of Side by Side by Sondheim.

Verarose Morici (Dresser - Legally Blonde + Little Shop of Horrors) is excited to be a part of her first summer at SCA. Vera has an associate's degree in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM). Currently, she is at Columbia College Chicago pursuing her bachelor's in Theatre Design and Technology with a focus on Costume Design. Her works include being the costume designer on Language of Angels, an assistant on Beneath the Orange Tree, and Sandcastles. She will be costume designing Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again this Fall at Columbia College Chicago. Vera is from the northwest suburbs of Illinois. Vera would like to thank her mother for sharing her passion for creativity and her father for teaching her the importance of handwork. To both her parents she thanks them for supporting her.

Jalen Myers (Sound Assistant - Legally Blonde, Board Op - Little Shop of Horrors) is a member of the sound team. He’s a graduate of GRCC with years of experience in the performing arts. He knows the secret to a good show is being able to hear it, and he’ll push as many buttons as possible to make that happen.

Connor Reilly (Running Crew Lead - Legally Blonde + Little Shop of Horrors) is a BFA Stage Management student at Michigan State University, and is thrilled to be a part of this production! Connor has most recently stage managed two MSU Orchesis Dance Company productions and was a member of the crew for MSU Department of Theatre’s Hit the Wall. Connor would like to thank the Saugatuck Center for the Arts for giving him this incredible opportunity.

Hailey Schumann (Company Management Intern - Legally Blonde + Little Shop of Horrors) is delighted to be joining the MSW crew for the first time this season. She is currently a fourth year college student at Hope College, where she is earning her BA in Communications and Cultural Anthropology. The Mason Street Warehouse is not her first introduction to performing arts, as she has been involved with theater productions since she was a freshman in high school. Now in college, she works in the scenic and prop shops in Hope College’s theater department during the academic year. Her favorite shows include

Joel Shinavier (Dresser - Little Shop of Horrors) is a recent graduate of Northern Michigan University and is returning for his third summer with MSW, his past two summers being 2019 and 2021. While at school he has designed multiple productions including The Producers, Elf: The Musical, Footloose, and A Chorus Line. In addition he worked for all four years in the schools costume shop and served as Assistant Manager his senior year.

Emma Shoenfelner (Director’s Assistant - Little Shop of Horrors) is happy to be back with her MSW family for her 10th season! Over the years at MSW, Emma has been a House Manager (2011-2013), a Dresser (2015), an Assistant Stage Manager (2016-2017, 2021), and Kurt’s assistant (20182019, 2022). A proud Saugatuck local and SHS grad, Emma now lives in Chicago and calls TimeLine Theatre Company and Steppenwolf Theatre her theatrical homes. But none of her theatre career would be possible without the support and guidance of all the wonderful artists she's spent her summers with at Mason Street Warehouse.

Adrienne Johnson (Running Crew - Legally Blonde) Born and raised on the Eastside of Michigan, Adrienne Johnson graduated from Hope College class 21’ with a Bachelor’s Degree in Recording Arts and Film Production; minoring in Art Studio and Music. While earning her undergrad, she worked as a Recording Studio Assistant, Art Department TA, Event Specialist, and Performing Arts Technician. She was the recipient of the Extra Mile Award and was the Sound Designer/Engineer for the award winning student short film “Ebb & Flow.” In 2021, Adrienne completed internships for HSRT and Local Legends Recording Studio. She has over 5 years experience working in the Theater Department and as an Event Technician. After graduation, she was hired by Hope College part-time as a livestream sound mixer and as the Sound Supervisor for Hope’s 2022 theater production “Bright Star.” Currently residing in the Holland Michigan area, she does freelance work in sound, video editing, and design. Clint Ivory (Running Crew - Legally Blonde) is a student at Grand Valley State University, currently studying accounting. In his free time he enjoys the outdoors, and is the current president of the GVSU Rock Climbing Club. Clint has been passionate about music for his whole life and is thrilled to be doing stage crew for such a wonderful show.
