CLASS O F 2008

Ryan Camperchioli

Ryan Camperchioli, Class of 2008, is currently a sales executive at Yodle, Inc., a title he earned by performing in the top 20 percent of over 300 representatives at the company. He attended Concordia University where he majored in business administration with a focus on marketing. Currently he spends his spare time kayaking on Lake Austin and exploring the incredible activities in Austin, as well as remaining an active member of the Austin Young Chamber of Commerce. He says of picking a favorite teacher at SBS, “Oh, man that’s a tough one. Mrs. Kersey was like Mr. Feeny from Boy Meets World for some of the members of my graduating class; I had her for English three years in a row in high school. Mrs. Linder in second grade was a good one, and then Mrs. Abney in Kindergarten I always remembered; I remember her sending me a letter when I graduated which seemed pretty thoughtful to me considering how many students she surely had over the years. There were a number of others I could mention here, but unfortunately I don’t have all day to write a memoir of all my fond SBS experiences, which I could easily do.” “Through my years at SBS, I developed a solid group of friends and people that I could rely on whenever I needed. Additionally, I will always be thankful for the emphasis the school made sure to put on developing our writing skills. When I got to college, I felt like I was—in some cases—years ahead of some of my peers in regards to their actual ability to compose written assignments in a concise and intelligent manner,” he says.

Ryan’s advice to SBS students: “If nothing else, value and never take for granted the high quality education that you are receiving at such young ages.”

Lucian Bukowski

Lucian Bukowski, from the Class of 1994, currently sits as the executive vice president at CBRE in Houston, Texas. In his professional years, he has earned 400 transactions totaling 7.6 million square feet, three lead/anchor tenant transactions resulting in 870,000 square feet of new Class A office construction, National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) Deal of the Year award winner in 2007, NAIOP Office Broker of the Year finalist in 2012 and Houston Business Journal’s “Heavy Hitter” for multiple years. In his spare time, Bukowski involves himself with the advisory board at Yellowstone Academy, the Houston Safari Club and the Texas Bighorn Sheep Society, as well as hunting, fishing, snow and water skiing. He remembers his favorite teacher at SBS, “I loved Mrs. Elsa Jean Looser – she is still a friend to this day. She is a great example of faith, quiet strength, and unconditional love. I was difficult during my years at SBS, and she found a way to break through and become a friend.” A fun memory of SBS shared by Bukowski, “Several of my friends and I skipped out of school to go swimming at the Hendee’s house, and we got in a lot of trouble.” “I was well prepared for college. I was also given a foundation of faith. I was not a Christian during my time at SBS, but that foundation that was built during my time at SBS served me well when I was ready,” says Bukowski. 48
