Readers Write In: Tell Us About Your Stoneleigh-Burnham “Sisters” When we first developed the idea of a Bulletin focused on friendship, we thought who better to tell us about the unique bonds formed at our school, than those who have walked the halls. At the same time, 11th grader Ghazaleh Aghazadeh took the photo you see below of her classmates Sherica Hamilton, Brittney Ames, Gabrielle Campbell, and Yasmin Baksh. We posted it on facebook and asked you to tell us about your own Stoneleigh-Burnham friendships and what they’ve meant to your life. Here’s what you said…
“I learned the real meaning of friendship at this school and I think the whole world needs to know it. We’re a big family and as family members we care about each other so much. You fall and someone is always there to pick you up. When I leave my home, when I leave its borders, as soon as I cross over, I think of Sally as my mother and this school as my family.” – Ghazaleh Aghazadeh ’15
“I have been so lucky to have such great Stoneleigh friends. It does not matter how often we talk or see each other, but we just always pick up where we left off. That is the sign of a true friend. Most of us have known each other since we were 14 and 15 years old. We grew up together, and went through all kinds of silly experiences together. Although I had friends in college, none of them have continued to be as important in my life as my Stoneleigh friends. It was a unique bonding time, and I treasure it.”

“I so remember taking a photo like this with Kacki, Wendy and Katie. I will always wish that Kacki was still with us. Great shot!”
“Not only did Stoneleigh-Burnham give me a wonderful education, but it also gave me an amazing network of women who have helped to shape who I am today. These women give me strength when I’m down, courage when I’m afraid, and power when I am weak. With their help, I am made to be a better person in every way.”

“SBS saved my life and the friends I met there are still my friends at 57 years old. It is the greatest all girls boarding school available today and the friendship in this picture is just fantastic. It captures the gifts of a small, loving academic environment! Love it!”
