LGBT+ History Month

As part of our school’s commitment to celebrating diversity, we marked LGBT+ History Month in assemblies led by students and involving learning about important historical figures across a diversity of identities and cultural backgrounds. In the assemblies students learnt about the themes of community, reflected on the lives of LGBTQ+ people and explored the meanings of symbols which have historically been important to the LGBTQ+ community. Not only did the students leading the assemblies demonstrate an impressive commitment to the Sarah Bonnell Way, but there were lots of wonderful moments of participation from students across different year group cohorts, reflecting the value of Be Proud.
