Maureen, Megan & Tommy Griffin were born & raised on Dorrance Avenue in South Buffalo.

All three children attended St. Martins school.

Among many accomplishments, their hard work and dedication to the Run Jimmy Run Charity 5K cannot be overlooked. The Griffin trio founded the Run Jimmy Run Charity 5K in 2013, which is a 5K race honoring their late father Jimmy Griffin; all of the proceeds from this great event benefit the Alzheimer’s Association of WNY. Maureen Griffin-Tomczak attended Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart and graduated from the University at Buffalo in 1993. Maureen married John Tomczak in 1995 and they now have 3 kids — John ’96, Grace ’97, and Joe ’98. Maureen is a founding Committee member of the Run Jimmy Run for Alzheimer’s of WNY and is the Founder of “Pie it Forward” which encourage friends and neighbors to bake pies for the Buffalo City Mission for Thanksgiving day meal deliveries—2016 will be the 4th year baking for the City Mission. Maureen is also a committee member for Buffalo Prep and a community board member at Dent Neurologic Institute.

Megan Griffin-Kates attended Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart and studied Nursing at Trocaire College. She is a founding committee member of the Run Jimmy Run. Megan is currently a Nurse Case

Manager at Landmark Health and was recently married to Rob Kates.

Tommy Griffin attended Canisius High and moved on to Canisius College where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Urban Studies. Tommy is employed as a Securities Principal with HSBC Securities. He is married to Colleen Donovan, who is the daughter of Linda and Rick Donvan. They now have two children, Ruby (8) and Owen (6). Tommy is also a founding member of the Run Jimmy Run.

TE Caulfield was born and raised in South Buffalo.

He attended St. Thomas Aquinas, Nichols School, Buffalo State College (BS) and Vermont College (MA).

TE is married to Nancy Krug; father of Lauren and Liam Caulfield; grandfather to Mairead Caulfield and Brian Caulfield and Hannah Annunziata.

The Tim O’Neil Good Samaritan Award The Biblical tale of the Good Samaritan is a lesson we should all learn in life. It is a story of selflessness and compassion.

The Samaritan put his own well being and safety second to a man who had been beaten, robbed, and left for dead on the road to Damascus. This parallels what Tim O’Neil did for our son Ryan, he put his own safety in jeopardy in an attempt to save Ryan’s life.

Tim could have suffered the same fate as Ryan, being struck by a car as he waited for emergency personnel on the side of the road, but that was second to helping someone who was truly in need. As a family, we cannot show enough gratitude for this immense act of selflessness. That is why we are both humbled and honored to present the Good Samaritan award in Tim’s name.
