The programme recently ran a three-day campaign to raise awareness about unsecured window blind looped cords after a number of fatalities of young children across the UK who had become tangled in them. Martin, who owns the Apollo showroom on Kilbowie Road, Clydebank is delighted that Daybreak has given the issue vital national coverage. “Window blinds from responsible retailers like Apollo have come with safety devices as standard for a number of years,” said Martin. ”But the TV campaign highlighted the problem of existing blinds which may not have been fitted with safety devices when they were originally installed. We have seen a rise in the number of parents and grandparents wanting advice and information about child safety as a result of the Daybreak programme and we're happy to help as it's such an important issue.”
