Welcome to the 2020 Southern Virtual Annual Meeting! From professional sports with no fans to virtual graduations and shelter in place orders, to say 2020 is unique would be an understatement.
Although we wish we were all together in-person for our Southern Annual Meeting, we are excited about the strong turnout for our virtual event. We have worked hard behind the scenes to create an agenda and content that will deliver a meaningful experience for everyone. We are confident that both vendors and wholesale distributors will be able to connect and conduct successful business meetings. We kick things off on Tuesday afternoon, August 18, with committee meetings and The Southern Leadership Division board meeting, where colleagues can reconnect while discussing initiatives important to the association. Also being released on Tuesday, is the Show Deals Book. Vendors have provided great deals, which I’m sure wholesale distributors will take advantage of. The Show Deals will expire on Friday, September 4, so distributors, make sure you place those orders!
On Wednesday, we’ll conduct the SAWD Board of Directors meeting and the General Membership Meeting where new board members will be elected. Big things are in store for Wednesday afternoon as we kick off the Virtual Ten-2-Profit. With 50 vendors and 52 distributor tables, everyone has a full slate of meetings. To all the vendors, be sure to make the most of your time! Throughout all of this, our Virtual Auction will be taking place and has terrific items and experiences to bid on. The auction ends on Thursday, August 20 at 9pm EST with proceeds benefiting The Southern Education Fund. We appreciate your unwavering commitment and support of The Southern family and we hope you and your loved ones are safe and well during these unprecedented times.
