The instruc7ons contained within the Instruc7ons Manual must be read carefully before a>emp7ng to install the VORTEX EcoSmart hand dryer. Read and retain for future reference. Failure to accurately follow the instruc7ons may result in the incorrect opera7on of the VORTEX EcoSmart hand dryer, damage to property and/or personal injury. SAVORTEX will not be held liable for any damage to property or personal injury as a result of failure to comply with the instruc7ons contained herein.

WARNING – TO REDUCE THE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR INJURY TO PERSONS, OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING: 1.  Ensure no pipe work (gas, water, air) or electrical cables, wires or ductwork are located directly behind the drilling area. 2.  Disconnect power before installa7on or servicing. This appliance must be earthed. This product is intended for installa7on by a qualified person. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabili7es, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given instruc7on concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. 3.  SAVORTEX recommends the use of protec7ve clothing, eyewear and materials as necessary. The product is intended for installa7on by a qualified electrician. 4.  Do not use the VORTEX EcoSmart hand dryer for drying hair.

Installa.on Manual To install the Vortex EcoSmart, you will need: M5 star drive bit or screw driver

Electrical requirements: 230V AC +10% -­‐10% 60 Hz

Guideline distance between floor and air outlet Gentlemen: 1080mm Ladies: 980mm Children & Wheelchair users: 850mm

Installa.on surfaces

The hand dryer should be mounted ver7cally in two planes to a high density solid substrate. such as brick, building block or concrete walls, that have the strength and mass both to support and to minimise sound transmission. Any hollow construc7on such as stud par77ons in any material should be avoided.

UNPACKING Remove all packaging (recycling is recommended) Remove the hand dryer form the carton and use care not to drop the appliance. Inspect for any damage that may have occurred during transit. Check for any loose, missing or damaged parts. If the appliance is damaged, promptly inform the dealer where you purchased it. If the wrapping tape on the carton has been opened, promptly inform the dealer where you purchased it.

INSTALLATION NOTES ALWAYS ENSURE THAT THE INSTALLATION CONFORMS TO THE CURRENT EDITION OF THE IEE WIRING REGULATIONS BS7671(UK) ORTHE APPROPRIATE STANDARDS IN YOUR COUNTRY. ENSURE THAT THE UNIT IS SEPARATELY FUSED WITH A SUITABLY RATED FUSE AND THAT IT IS CONNECTED TO THE SUPPLY WITH A DOUBLE POLE ISOLATING SWITCH HAVING A CONTACT SEPARATION OF AT LEAST 3mm. Ensure that the electrical cable is of sufficient length to make the necessary connec7on to the back plate.

Installa.on Manual Wiring Bring the Mains cable through the clearance holes in the back plate. Note there are 3 positions for the cable entry. Wire up mains as follows: 1.  Remove the connector located on the back plate.

2.  Connect the Live wire (coloured Brown) to the terminal marked ‘L’ 3.  Connect the Neutral wire (coloured Blue) to the terminal marked ‘N’ 4.  Connect the Earth wire (coloured Green & Yellow) to the terminal marked ‘E’ or with the symbol

5.  Replace the connector cover located on the back plate 6.  Plug mains connector cable from VORTEX hand dryer unit into mains cable input connector located on back plate Fig. 4 7. Turn mains power back on Fig. 4

Fig 1 -­‐ Remove the two screws on either side of the Hand Dryer case and remove Universal Back Moun7ng Plate. Take extra care when removing the cover from the dryer to avoid an injury, as dryer cover is heavy.

Fig 2 -­‐ Place the moun7ng plate on the wall at the appropriate height for your installa7on and drill 4 holes as indicated in the drawing below. The screws pass through the rubber buffers. When 7ghtening them make sure a clear gap is lel between the universal moun7ng plate and the wall to minimise the transmission of vibra7on.

Fig 3 -­‐ Aler ensuring that the mains cable termina7on is wired to a Fused switched spur outlet, ensure that the mains supply is isolated prior to assembly and Insert the mains cable through the rear of the moun7ng plate. Use the supplied screws and raw plugs and fix the universal moun7ng plate to the wall. Fig 4 -­‐ The universal moun7ng plate enables, buried or surface wiring(in a conduit), with the la>er a tail of double insulated cable is taken from the conduit under the dryer through either the lel or the right channel in the back of the universal moun7ng plate then, run the cable through as in diagram below.
