Resilience in the Face of War: Supporting Mothers and Babies in Ukraine

Unfortunately, the war in Ukraine continues to bring hardship and uncertainty. Despite these challenging circumstances, our Life Centers remain steadfast in their mission. They continue to operate, providing vital support to mothers and children in need, offering hope, and serving as a safe haven during these difficult times

We are deeply committed to standing with those who rely on us, and we are immensely grateful to our team and supporters who make this possible, even in the face of ongoing adversity.

Unfortunately, in 2024, one of our Life Centers in Pokrovsk, Ukraine, had to temporarily close its operations as the area was occupied by Russian forces. We grieve together with the people of Ukraine for the innocent lives lost. Please keep Ukraine in your prayers.

Marina Kovaliova, a 41-year-old mother of 13-year-old Kyrylo and 7-month-old Zakhar, faced severe domestic violence and struggled with alcoholism. Despite attending church and participating in programs like "Learn and Earn" at Life Center Lviv, she remained trapped in a toxic relationship with her abusive partner.

October 21 Marina called Life Center volunteers Miriam and Tomas, seeking urgent help. The team found Marina injured, intoxicated, and living in inhumane conditions With immediate action, they provided temporary shelter, coordinated with local authorities, and ensured medical care for baby Zakhar, whose health issues required urgent attention. The Life Center secured a place for Marina and her children at a local shelter and have found a specialist to address her addiction She also received material assistance, including food, clothes, and baby essentials. Throughout her recovery journey, the team continued emotional and spiritual support, helping Marina rebuild her life.

Today, Marina lives apart from her abuser, maintains sobriety, and actively participates in Life Center programs. She accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized on December 1, 2024. Grateful for the unwavering support, Marina says, "The Life Center saved not just my life but also my children’s future

ter was opened at the Life Center in Poland.

Opening and registering the Daycare Center for children aged 1 to 3 years in Gdańsk was a long and challenging process, but we successfully launched it in June. Since then, our beneficiaries have been able to leave their children in the care of two certified caregivers. One of them, Olena, is a former beneficiary of the Foundation who, with our support, completed a daycare caregiver course and now works in our Daycare Center.

The daycare has been a tremendous help to beneficiaries, many of whom lack family or friends to rely on for childcare while searching for employment. Initially, financial challenges made it difficult for them to afford the first month of daycare fees. However, after securing jobs, their situations improved, and now every mother is able to cover the cost of daycare These contributions enable us to pay caregivers’ salaries and cover related expenses. This initiative has proven to be an effective way to empower beneficiaries, allowing them to return to work and achieve selfsufficiency. We are committed to providing a "fishing rod, not fish" equipping families with the tools to rebuild their lives.

In 2024, we opened two new Life Centers, and this was made possible thanks to our generous donors who bring hope to mothers in crisis and their children. These centers are not just places of practical support during times of crisis they are also spaces where spiritual transformation happens. Through the work of our centers, many lives have been touched, and people are coming to know God. We are deeply grateful to the local churches who partners with us in this mission.

In June we had our 9th Annual 3 day’s Conference in Zakarpattia, considered the safest place in Ukraine. The Conference was titled “Faithful” and 140 staff and volunteers spent this precious time together, worshiping and training together The slogan of the Conference was “You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things”. The Conference was attended by a team of donors from USA.
