THE COMMITTEE CONNECTION

Fall Leaf Clean-Up Competition

From the Infrastructure Committee

Hi Neighbors!

It’s full-on Fall and it’s that time of year when leaves are starting to “fall” and blanket our beautiful community. We would love to keep our streets clean and safe so we are launching a fun competition to see which Savannah village can pick up the most leaves. We understand that some of the more established villages might have a little advantage with more mature trees but let’s all do we can and put in our maximum effort. You can always clean up your neighbor’s leaves as well; we’re sure they wouldn’t mind a helping hand!

Interested in participating?

Here’s what to do: first, post pictures of your full leaf bags in front of your home on our Infrastructure Facebook page starting today, December 20th. Be sure to include your village name. For every full leaf bag, we will award you one virtual raffle ticket. At the end of the competition, we will draw raffle tickets live on Facebook and award gift cards to the selected winners. In addition, the village with the highest total of full leaf bags will get a free pizza village block party in 2025, at the Savannah Resort pool, to celebrate their achievement!

Click the button below to sign up for our Infrastructure Facebook page, join the competition, and let’s not “leaf” anything on the field!

Updates,

Reminders, And All Things Compliance!

This month’s friendly reminder to you all of some of the policies for the Savannah community requirements.

With the freeze last week, the leaves have fallen off the trees and it is the responsibility of the homeowner to pick up the leaves on their property.

7.15 FLAGS

Approval Not Required In accordance with the general guidelines set forth in this policy, an Owner is permitted to display the flag of the United States of America, the flag of the State of Texas, or an official or replica flag of any branch of the United States Military ("Permitted Flag") and permitted to install a flagpole no more than five feet (5') in length affixed to the front of a residence near the principal entry or affixed to the rear of a residence ("Permitted Flagpole"). Only two (2) permitted Flagpoles are allowed per residence. A Permitted Flag or Permitted.

719 HOLIDAY DECORATIONS

Residents may display religious holidays, cultural, and holiday decorations in and on their homes and yards subject to the Association's right to regulate the time, place, and manner of displays that are visible from the street. Decorations, including lighting displays, are permitted inside windows, on the exteriors of homes, and on front yards provided (1) they are customary for residential neighborhoods, (2) they are to scale or proportionate to the size and setback of the home, (3) they do not create a noise or light disturbance for neighbors, (4) they are appropriate for the holiday, and (5) they are installed no earlier than 45 days before the holiday, and are removed within 30 days after the holiday.

7.16. GARAGES

Without the board's prior written approval, the original garage area of a lot may not be enclosed or used for any purpose that prohibits the parking of two standard size operable vehicles therein. Garage doors are to be kept closed at all times except when a vehicle is entering or leaving

7.32. TRASH

Each resident will endeavor to keep the Property clean and will dispose of all refuse in receptacles designated specifically by the Association or by the solid waste disposal contractor for that purpose. Trash must be placed entirely within the designated receptacle. The board may adopt, amend, and repeal rules regulating the disposal and removal of trash from the Property. If the rules fail to establish hours for curbside trash containers, the container may be in the designated area from dusk on the evening before trash pick-up day until dusk on the day of trash pick-up. At all other times, trash containers must be kept inside the house, garage, or fenced yard and may not be visible from street or another lot.

7.36. YARD ART

The Association is interested in the appearances of yards that are visible from the street and from neighboring homes. Some changes or additions to a yard may defy easy categorization as an improvement; a sign, or landscaping This Section confirms that all aspects of a visible yard are within the purview of the Architectural Reviewer, including, without limitation, the shape of pruned shrubs; the number, shapes, and uses of flower beds; and the integration of items such as wheelbarrows, boulders, and driftwood into the landscaping.

Have A Safe And Happy Holiday!
