solitude Joelle Williams
Alone I
in twilight's
hear the crickets
The wind's
thickening grasp,
start to sing.
a rustle in the grass.
Solitude's a funny thing.
Three dim
And
An
stars
appear out there.
like a planetary ring.
untouched jet
trail
spans the sky.
Solitude's a funny thing.
And At
if the
darkness comes too soon.
least there's
slumber
Until the foothills
in its
drown
the
wing.
moon.
Solitude's a funny thing.
Floating in a cobalt night.
We
wait for what the day will bring.
Evening
sets
my
heart alight.
Solitude's a funny thing.
