RAIN-STORM VALLEY JUST BEFORE THE RAIN The sky
is
water-color gray
over the silhouette
hills,
dark clouds slide by slowly like great
barges of water,
they are soft ragged carriers of
rain,
without beginning or end,
dark-winged clouds urged on by
a
in
a forever formation,
damp-breathed wind
that tortures through the limbs of
December darkened
trees like
some
half-forgotten nightmare.
This
done
is
a portrait of a rainstorm valley, in
water-color.
