The success of The Dubai Mall initiated Emaar to develop an expansion on the opposite side of the boulevard. As there were little space for expansion, DPA conducted a feasibility study on how this idea could be implemented. Several options were put forward by the collaboration of the Dubai and Singapore teams, and eventually one of the schemes was selected and is now being developed for construction.
