The Water's Journey concept for the Olympic aquatic center is a design approach that draws inspiration from the natural journey of water, from its source in the mountains to its ultimate destination in the ocean. This concept is not only a metaphor for the physical journey of water but also symbolizes the journey of a swimmer, from the early stages of training to the pinnacle of competition.
Just as water flows through various landscapes and ecosystems, design incorporates elements that reflect the different stages of this journey. From the moment visitors enter the aquatic center, they are greeted by a prominent water feature that symbolizes the start of the water's journey. As they move through the center, they encounter curved pathways and corridors that mimic the winding path of a river, creating a sense of movement and flow.
The Water's Journey concept not only provides a visually striking design but also serves a functional purpose. The flexible spaces that can be reconfigured for different events and activities mirror the adaptability of water, while sustainable features such as rainwater harvesting and energy-efficient systems align with the environmental aspect of the concept.

The campus will encompass six academic departments, a state-of-the-art library, staff housing, indoor and outdoor stadiums, and extensive recreational facilities. The design is deeply rooted in the principles of biophilic design, emphasizing the integration of natural elements to enhance learning and well-being.

Site

Proposed Site
Bhita Airport (8km)
Bita Railway Station(4.KM)
For our 7th semester architecture design project, we have been tasked with designing the NIT campus in Patna.
In the year 16, Bihar government has provided 15 acres of land at Bihta for the development of its additional campus. The land has been fully acquired, and its boundary wall has been already completed with the support of the district administration
Topography: The site is predominantly flat.
Connectivity: Existing 6m wide road to the South And East of the site Climate: humid subtropical climate.

Windrose of Patna shows that dominant wind blow from the East much of the time - about 3.89%.
The concept of biophilic design is a central tenet of the "Campus Planning NIT" proposal in Patna, Bihar, India. This approach to architecture emphasizes the incorporation of natural elements and processes into the built environment, fostering a connection between people and nature. By integrating biophilic design principles, the project aims to enhance the educational experience, promote well-being, and support sustainability.
The design prioritizes the use of natural light and ventilation in all buildings. Large windows, skylights, and open spaces will allow ample sunlight to penetrate interior spaces, reducing the need for artificial lighting and improving indoor air quality. This natural illumination enhances mood and productivity while minimizing energy consumption.
Studies have shown that exposure to natural environments can improve concentration, memory, and overall cognitive function. By integrating biophilic design, the campus will create an environment conducive to learning and academic success.
