The project was divided into two parts:

Firstly, the existing showcases had to be redesigned to showcase the specimens on display

Secondly, the space had to be redesigned to offer an experience. This project aims to open up the world of zoology to non-scientists by offering an immersive experience in the h story of animal evolution

It guides vis tors through a journey that combines chronology and theme, highlighting each specimen n its uniqueness

Immersion will be maximized through the use of fragmented d splay cases creating a direct connection between visitors and the spec mens on display particularly in a darkened room where only illuminated specimens will be visible

The themat c organ zation will follow a chronological sequence, guiding v sitors through the d fferent branches of the zoological tree

Wall-mounted showcases will emphasize the s ngularity of each specimen, wh le island showcases will allow detailed exploration around a particular specimen

The first approach was to immerse visitors in an env ronment where they would feel surrounded by specimens To ach eve this, a dark room lit only by glass cases containing numerous birds was envisaged.

The key idea was to find innovat ve ways of making vis tors feel immersed n the specimens

Several concepts emerged in response to this challenge:

A second idea was to play with the optical illusion by nstalling a wall repeat ng the same frames as those in the showcases In this way vis tors could observe each other through the frames on the wall This repetition of the window frames in a wall created an intriguing visual experience

Finally, a th rd approach involved the use of frosted walls to allow visitors to see their own shadows interacting with the specimens on display offer ng a un que perspective on the relationship between man and nature
