Parking charges - yo ed

What is being done to improve the parking behind Stretton House. I fail to see where the funds have been spent here?

We recognise that this area requires improvement One of the reasons we have increased the charges is to ensure we have the revenue to improve the car parking for all patients and colleagues

At this moment we are looking into the space behind Stretton House and how it is best utilised This may lead to a loss of spaces in the summer but we will release more information when we have it The Park & Ride drops off at Mytton Oak Road near Stretton House and picks up outside the nursery on Evolution Road, so we would encourage everyone working in this location to use the Park & Ride

What will the spotchecks involve at SBP and is it legal to charge for parking here?

We will be checking if drivers have either a valid permit or have registered with the pay-as-you-go app We will ensure there is no double parking or parking in disabled spaces (for non blue badge holders) We have an arrangement with the landlord which allows us to charge for parking

How do I use the parking at the cricket ground for SBP?

The cricket club car park is accessible via a combination lock (1983) so can be accessed at any time You will need to show a permit in your car so they know you are NHS staff The permit is available on the intranet here

If you are visiting SBP for pre-employment checks do you have to pay?

You can park at the cricket ground for free, or park at the hotel car park (holiday inn) and pay at the hotel reception. Just inform them you are attending Douglas Court for pre-employment checks.

I have a courtesy car for the next week, can I still use the PRH Park & Ride?

Yes, just email sath.prhparkandride@nhs.net with your email address and car registration number. You will need to email again when you are using your regular car.

If I park in a patient space at PRH will I be fined?

We would ask everyone to keep our patients parking spaces free for patients as it’s the right thing to do. We will be carrying out work at PRH to clearly define staff and patient spaces and installing new ANPR cameras. Staff will be fined if they are parking incorrectly.

If I have a staff permit but visit the hospital as a patient, can I park in a patient space?

Yes, you can park in a patient space, but you will need to pay the patient rate for parking via the paystation or using the online option advertised on the signage on site

Can we park in the contractors car park if there are no spaces?

No, we have an arrangement with IHP and their car park is for their use only

How do we report contractors parking in staff or patient spaces?

Please take a picture if possible and send to sth-tr carparking@nhs net so that we can look into it further

If I use the pay-as-you-go rate for more than once a week, it’s more than having a permit, is that right?

The pay-as-you-go rates are flat rates and are not tiered according to pay banding. This option has been created for those one-off situations when you need to be on site for work last minute and do not have a valid permit If you are regularly on site, even once a week it will depend on your pay band as to whether the pay-as-you-go or permit is the cheaper option

Can SaTH do anything more to stop staff and patients parking on residential streets?

We need all our colleagues to be considerate of our neighbours and to not park on nearby residential streets We will continue to work closely with our council colleagues to find a solution

If

my vehicle

changes temporarily, what do I do?

If a permit holder needs to use a vehicle that is not registered on their permit for less than one month, i e while their own vehicle is being repaired, they need to email the car park permit department sth-tr carparking@nhs net on or before the first time that they park on site, with the replacement vehicle details and the alternative vehicle registration number will be recorded on the whitelist. If the alternative vehicle is going to be used for more than one month then the user should change the vehicle registration number on the GroupNexus portal and change back when necessary.

If I cancel my parking permit, how soon can I re-join the permit scheme after I have cancelled it?

You can re-join at any time.

When is pay-as-you-go being introduced?

This will be in place from Tuesday 1 April We will send out more details nearer the time but this will be payable via an app and you will pay after you have parked so you know how much to pay

Will disabled parking remain free?

Yes, parking will remain free for blue-badge holders

Are there plans to extend and upgrade the EV charging facilities for colleagues?

Yes there are. Currently if colleagues wish to use the charging bays they need to visit the parking attendants every time they wish to do so and they will be issued with a permit. Colleagues will need to move their vehicle when they have finished charging to ensure that others can also use the charging bays Charging for a few hours does not entitle that person to use the charging point as a parking space for the rest of their shift Attendants will monitor this and PCNs will be issued to any vehicle which remains in the bay for more than 30 minutes after the charging session has completed

Are there plans to flex the timings for busy periods on the Park & Ride?

We need more colleagues to use the service If the numbers increase to a point where capacity is limited, then we will be looking at how to meet the needs of that service.
