Just mount, plug, and connect: PointCast’s smart, robotic VSAT antennas simplify satellite internet connectivity
In a world where seamless internet is mission-critical, PointCast is setting a new standard. Designed to perform in the most demanding environments, this self-aligning, auto-pointing VSAT system allows fast, resilient, and affordable broadband connectivity—with no technical expertise required. Starting at just US$1,300, PointCast Solutions integrates cutting-edge automation, remote monitoring, and multiorbit support across Ka-band and Ku-band frequencies. The result: peak performance with minimal maintenance and no technical expertise required.

Born from the urgent need for reliable communication during crises, PointCast was designed to overcome the very challenges that delay traditional VSAT deployments. Its development was shaped by years of experience delivering connectivity to remote, underserved communities across Southeast Asia and the Pacific—where infrastructure is scarce and conditions are tough.
According to Richard Denny, Executive Vice President

“The core proposition is being able to deliver fast, reliable, and affordable broadband in some of the most challenging environments”

at PointCast’s Product Development & Innovation (PDI) team, “Our core proposition is being able to deliver fast, reliable, and affordable broadband in some of the most challenging environments in the world. PointCast addresses the inefficiencies, high costs, and logistical barriers of legacy systems, making it an ideal solution for hard-to-reach areas with minimal support on the ground.”
EASY TO INSTALL, USE, AND MAINTAIN
Sensitive to the challenges of bringing connectivity to places lacking terrestrial infrastructure, PointCast is designed not only to be easy to use and maintain but also to deliver and install. “The innovation behind PointCast Solutions reflects our commitment to addressing realworld connectivity needs through quick setup, portability, and efficiency,” explains Denny.

There is no need for exorbitant transportation costs or technical expertise. The system’s auto-pointing capability means that it can recalibrate itself without needing a technician, thereby reducing the frequency of service disruptions and the hassle of realigning the antenna.
While the installation of standard satellite antennas requires skilled technicians, particularly on islands or where rugged terrain exists, PointCast can be set up quickly in three easy steps:
• Mount the auto-pointing control unit and antenna;
• Plug in the auto-pointing control unit and power cables; and
• Watch as PointCast aligns itself with the satellite for optimal signal performance
Richard Denny, Executive Vice President at PointCast’s Product Development & Innovation (PDI) team
Once the system is up and running, it is managed remotely through a centralized fleet manager or built-in web manager. When necessary, it is possible to trigger repointing to another satellite, even with different frequencies.
The automated backup repointing steers the system to a backup satellite in the event of an anomaly. Additionally, integrated self-diagnostics and remote monitoring enable real-time performance tracking, while remote software upgrades facilitate effortless system updates. The system also leverages the existing traffic carrier signal for communication and control, thereby eliminating the need for an external tone carrier.
PointCast re-acquires and re-peaks automatically after a signal loss or degradation due to external factors, such as unforeseen impacts on the VSAT, severe weather, shifting foundations, or earthquakes. Indeed, during adverse weather, PointCast automatically stows the dish in a safer, flat position and then autonomously repoints once conditions stabilize.
BUILT TO SUPPORT INCLINED GEO ORBITS—FUTURE-READY BY DESIGN
PointCast is uniquely suited to track and maintain connectivity with inclined geostationary (GEO) orbits, which are rapidly becoming more common due to the ageing of
traditional GEO satellites and changing economics of satellite replacement.
As operators retire or consolidate assets, inclined orbit satellites offer extended lifespan and cost savings yet require antennas with advanced tracking and realignment capabilities.
PointCast combines smart tracking, auto-repointing, and remote management to support inclined orbit GEO services—but its true game-changer is affordability.
Unlike traditional tracking antennas—often prohibitively expensive and suitable only for niche applications— PointCast delivers advanced tracking at a low cost, enabling mass-market deployment.
This ensures that inclined orbit satellites can now retain bandwidth prices on par with station-kept satellites, removing a key economic barrier to adoption. PointCast can even be used in concert with Geo satellites without any inclination control

Each model delivers 1–2 dB stronger signal strength than standard manually pointed VSATs—translating to greater speed, efficiency, and reliability. PointCast also outperforms manually pointed VSAT terminals by delivering 1 to 2 dB stronger signals, thereby boosting spectral efficiency, service availability, and reliable connectivity.
A SMART INVESTMENT
Notes Denny, “We realized that automating pointing and calibration reduces costs dramatically and allows governments and enterprises to scale connectivity more rapidly. That’s why we engineered PointCast Solutions to address the needs of various sectors operating in challenging and remote environments.”
PointCast has been tested by numerous satellite operators worldwide and can be utilized for emergency response in various remote industries, including mining, construction, and energy operations, as well as in scalable government and educational initiatives such as e-learning and telehealth initiatives.
PointCast Solutions are the most cost-effective systems available today. A one-time investment delivers multi-level savings. There are no ongoing installation costs, fewer support calls, and minimal operational overhead (See Pricing for PointCast Solutions).
24/7 SUPPORT
The Fleet Manager Software, included in all PointCast Solutions, provides real-time visibility over all deployed terminals and monitors terminal health, connectivity status, and performance metrics. PointCast also features integrated self-diagnostics and remote software upgrades, enabling effortless system updates.
